My daughter just graduated on 3-2-2012 from bootcamp, and is attending A school at Great Lakes. She eventually will be going to Everett, Washington. My question is, will she be able to come home on leave before moving so far away?
@momofbp: You know that's the truth. I just hope that all of our sailors are able to get thru the changes military life can bring. Otherwise, I'll just keep my blue candle burning! Does anyone know if there is a C School page?
Well looking forward to my son heading off to C School. He's so determined to make the Navy a career!
Hi all,
Sorry I have been off the site for awhile. My son is keeping me posted on his A school, and he said he is finishing early on the 25th. Momofbp- you are right about the dates changing. I am not sure now when he has to report to San Diego. I do not even know what he is doing on the ship, he is an undie, so I guess all the "crap" work..until he can strike.. but he doesn't care as long as it is in beautiful San Diego..see how he likes it at sea though, time will tell.
hello all!!
jackerfan--if you cant make it to either of his graduations, maybe you can find someone on here to get some pictures for you. or maybe he can have someone there get pictures for you. i feel very blessed that we have been able to go to sc to visit my son. God is Great!!
Amy D and tina41...I am from SC and it is a beautiful state! The Charleston area in particular is beautiful...so much history. Columbia is nice, too. We are from the upstate near the mountains, but the state is so small that you can drive from the coast to the mountains in just a few hours. Hope your sons enjoy it there.
My son is in San Antonia for corpsman school; he graduates in a month and will go to San Diego for FMTB training then onto Okinawa, Japan. He will not get to come home before leaving, so I don't know when we will be able to see him again. I'm grateful he got to come home at Christmas. Financially, we just can't afford the air fare to get to either San Antonio or San Diego for either graduation. He is very excited, though.
good morning all!

amyd---i dont know if you have ever been to sc, but it is nice there. we went for thanksgiving last year. plannng on going down in april.
Hi everyone!
My son just graduated from Boot Camp on 2/3/2012. He is now in Columbia, SC for A school. He loves it there. I'm so happy that we can communicate now!
Hello all, I am new to this so bear with me. My son just graduated BC 2/3 and is at A school in great lakes. He is going to be there for about 3 weeks then is stationed on the DDG Stockdale in San Diego. I am happy that he is finally out of BC and moving on to better duty!
Saw "The Wild Thornberrys:The Movie" on cable today. Got me all misty. I still see us in the theatre watching it, sharing a medium popcorn and Cherry Coke. Good memories.
