Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

This is the final test for the recruits before they become sailors. It is an overnight drill held on a ship replica made by Disney, so it is very realistic....the recruits face every challenge that…Continue

Oh, also, as far as the call goes, it will pop up as "Unknown" "Restricted" or with an 847 area code...any of the above....ANSWER!
Penny, just breathe..once things start getting settled with him you'll be getting WEEKLY letters...YES, sometimes that means MULTIPLES:) And occasional phone calls home:) Hang tight, it's worth it in the end!
they assign my hubby to be one of the priest he also told be that people are quiting in his divison i cried when he told me how much he missed me and that he loves me and cant wait to see me these letters were the highlight of my day maybe even the rest of the year
congrats on your daughter lala ribbons and i will keep you and other other sailors and family in my prayer
yesssssssssssss i got 3 letters from my hubby today i cried the whole time i was reading them
So I see that it isn't just ship 11 after all, but ship 07 as well. Seems quite a few of us moms in the same frame of mind .... just tell us how our kids are doing!!! What is their life like there and how are they feeling. That's pretty simple, don't ya think?
Thanks for being there for me and helping to hold my hand through these initial rough times, ladies. You are so very much appreciated.
Ship 07 Div 55, Penny
I, too, was disappointed at the mailbox this evening! I just sent off my 17th letter on my way home from work. I hope and pray that my SR (which are her initials!!) knows that I will be writing to her. My brother in TN is a high school teacher of 11th graders. He told me he had his kids write to her as an assignment. My dad here in OH is an elementary school teacher. His class also wrote letters to my SR. Whenever they do get mail, she will be 'showered' with cards, letters and words of encouragement!!! I hope she doesn't get too bummed before that!
Submarinemom, I know exactly how you feel. I know that my son is extremely interested in writing and so if he is told that he can't write yet, that will be hard on him. And if he is wondering if he is loved ... that would be a difficult thing as well on him as he left behind a brand new girlfriend of only one month and he was on cloud nine...to not even hear from her or me would be hard on him. So no need to beat them down, just don't let them hear from their loved ones is enough, don't ya think? You and I are both going through the same things and emotions right now. BTW, what ship/div is your son in?
Yes penny, I'm feeling many emotions right now. I feel as though somebody is playing a cruel joke on us, I find myself wondering if, perhaps my son doesn't want to write to me. I'm a wreck right now, I'm thinking to hard on everything and have to focus just to do the day to day things. I've never felt this way before in all my life. If they're holding the mail back, do our kids wonder if we even miss them? Do they wonder why we haven't written to them??
