Hey Jackie,

Sorry I'm just getting back to you.  My Sailor daughter loves being in the Navy!  I don't know what kind of change you are looking for, but my daughter has always been focused in researching what she wanted to do with her life, which is how she figured out the Navy was the best choice for her with the IT career.  She is very disciplined with her studies and does not go off base to party or anything like that.

Yayyyy!!  You get to be at the hotel with her!  So glad!!  Now you can be at MEPS for her swearing in and I don't know if they will encourage the family to see them off at the airport or just the bus that takes them to the airport.  Every MEPS handles it a little differently.

I'm not sure why it's not known about parents/family being welcome at the DEP meetings.  After my daughter joined, her recruiter came over to our home to answer any questions we had.  I specifically asked about the DEP meeting and my daughter didn't mind at all and her recruiter said we were welcome too.  Maybe it's the recruits themselves that don't know, so they don't let their parents know.  I think alot of it has to do with the recruiter too--my daughter's recruiter was top-notch and guided her all the way!!.  If you haven't, you can still have her recruiter visit you and have all your questions ready on a notepad~~

@ blm...that is wonderful, sweetie!  Yes, a tight hug from our Navy children would be the best!  I can't wait until the end of this year to do that!  Happy Mother's Day to you and enjoy the pride you have....

@ Noelle Blues Mom...Happy Mother's day to you, sweetie!  I did receive a call last night from my Navy girl.  The connection wasn't the best, but it was great to hear her voice.  She is on deployment and couldn't advise us where she was, but I did enjoy our conversation and it was the best Mother's Day gift I could have received!!!!
