Per one of our Navy Dads, can we get this info out to our Sailors to save them money when they are changing duty stations?  Pat (MP), can you repost this to all groups you are a part of?  Thanks!!

Personal Property Information for those in Pensacola/Corry Station.

I wanted to give you all a heads up that your Sailors are authorized personal property shipments when they leave A School headed to their first duty station. My son said no one knew about it and for some reason the schools do not tell the students about this and my son said his friends were all paying out of pocket to ship stuff home.

Once they have hard copy orders they need to visit the personal property office and they will be given instructions on how to ship their goods at the Navy's expense. Sailors should not be paying to move themselves. I got the information for my son and he went and did it and found it an easy process.

Friends,

No matter what each of our Sailors may be going through, they can hang onto this scripture:

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power,

and of love, and of a sound mind."

Pat (MP),

My daughter signed a 4 year contract.  So only if she is top or near the top of her class, she can be assigned to Hawaii?  it is a dream to live there, though, so I guess she would have to work for it!  Also, if she did get to go there, we were hoping to move over there too and rent for the 3 years she would be there.  We've always loved Hawaii.  How many times did you get to visit her while she was stationed there?

Pat(MP), thank you, I did get a letter from her today atleast, she was very depressed.

Vickyrun, Erin told me that she did finish her run, but could barely walk afterwards and that is why she was put in RCU. She failed the run by 7 seconds. Then she said that when she is released from there she will be put in RHU until she goes to A school. She told me she will not be allowed to go to a graduation ceremony. Did your daughter get to go to graduation?

Comment by Vickyrun on March 13, 2013 at 12:50pm

Dsmellen, If she hurt her knees she is probably on medical hold and can try again once she is better. My daugther hurt her ankle in BC and was in medical for four weeks. After she was better she was put in a new division.

My daughter was supposed to graduate on 3/15 but didn't pass her final PFA. She has hurt both of her knees trying to pass the running. She called me,(for 45 sec.) in tears last Wed. to tell me she wouldn't be graduating this week and had been moved to the RCU. I have no idea what that is, or what's next, and she hasn't been allowed to call me again. Very frustrating.

Pat (MP),

Wow, that's great to know that those below E-4 can get a Hawaii assignment!!  My daughter is E-2 and is in Pensacola waiting to train for IT.  She just arrived this past Saturday, March 9th.
