Maggie,
Not to change the subject matter here but I was reading your post and wondered if you knew there was a Moms Who Served group here. There are several of us moms who were sailors ourselves and now are watching our children go through what we went through. Its a place to share stories, info, etc with each other!!!

Thanks Maggie, That is my worry that it might be "Sexual Harassment" But I don"t know how the Navy defines that term. One young man was very insentient that she tell him what she is doing every weekend, who she talks to, etc. I told her that that was too controlling and you don't need a man like that. He even wanted her to go to Las Vegas with him for Christmas leave, she told him "No". She is coming home to CA. ~ Vicky

Yeah my daugher is 24, a single Mom. Yes, there some strict rules againist frantinzed among the raks. But they are aloowed to date someone thier own rank. My daughter is not interested in dating, she only goes off base in groups. Most of the men who have asked her out or younger then her, and she is not interested. Since she is divorced, she is not as naive as some of the younger girls. I am gald she is not dating. She says she trys to be nice when she tells these guys "No". And they keep asking! I said sometimes there is no nice way to say "No"! She is not interested in any sailors.

Hey Vickyrun,
How are you? Good to hear from you!! My daughter is dating a sailor. In fact they are talking about getting married next year. There are some good things about it in that they both understand the Navy life.

Hi Moms of Navy Daughters,
Do any of your daughter's date other sailors? My daughter is divorced and not interested in dating right now. But she gets asked alot! She even got 2 proposals! Lol. I told it is OK to not date for a while, she needs to focus on A school. ~ Vicky

Well I just got home from a week's visit with my sailor daughter in WA!!! It was so wonderful to get to spend everyday with her again!!! Her bf is also a sailor and preparing to deploy real soon so my daughter and I had the idea to throw an early Thanksgiving for him!!!! It was so sweet because I was thinking about how I won't get to spend any of the holidays with her but he won't be able to spend any of the holidays with any family or friends. So we fixed a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner and he was so surprised. This will be the second Thanksgiving/Christmas without both my sailor kids but it will be ok!

Navymom333,
WOW!! You have two daughters in bc at the same time?!! How awesome is that? Are they the same age or did they just decide to go in at the same time?

Katie didn't get her navy.mil e-mail address until she arrived in Sasebo and processed onto the USS Essex. A few days later she e-mailed us with her new official address. JP - Where will your son be stationed out of?

Tam - my daughter Katie left in April for the Essex. You'll have to join the Japan Mom's and the GW group now. whta is your daughter's rate?

Cheryl,
That's what Navy Moms is all about! Sorry your girl is having so many illnesses hit her all at once. I will keep her in my prayers for a complete and speedy recovery. I was stationed in San Diego years ago - wish I was there now and I would go check on your daughter also.
Keep us posted on how she is doing.
