We just got the letter with Nadya's PIR.  July 11th!  So happy we can write to her now!

Write those letters ladies. My daughter said letters kept her going. I wrote every night. She hated sundays and wednesdays because those were the two days she knew she wasn't going to get mail due to the 3 day delivery and no mail On sundays.

I received my 1st letter from my daughter and was so excited to read her letter. I hardly imagined myself getting so elated about mail but I was definitely overjoyed! One happy mother. (:

Girls let me tell you. It doesn't get any easier. Kayla told me today as she was leaving that the master chief that spoke at her a school graduation (that I was unable to attend) was talking to them about how leaving your family never gets easier for either party. My daughter spend 45 minutes crying this morning in her room writing notes to myself, her step dad, and her best friend. As hard as it is for me I know it's just as hard fir her to leave me.

Best wishes for Kayla and her new venture.  When my daughter gets to that point, I'm sure she will also be over the moon with excitement.  When my first born went to college in Wisconsin, I thought it was the end of the world.  Turns out, we became closer because we appreciated when we connected.  You're in her heart for good mom!

I'm preparing to say my "see you later" tomorrow to my sailor. She is heading to maryland for 2 years. It is so hard. I want to tell you it gets easier to say bye but honest I would be lying to you. My daughter is super excited so I don't let her see me cry because I don't ever want her to think I'm not proud of what she is doing. I just hate the goodbyes not know for sure when the next hello will come. Hang in there mom's the journey is just beginning.

I concur!! Our daughters will be amazing & strong women when boot camp is finished.
Comment by Beth on May 21, 2014 at 7:08pm

Thanks for that!  I don't know any of you personally but somehow I do feel a closeness to you.  The waiting is much easier when you hear from someone who has been through it.

The transformation you will see in your girls will be a great one. My daughter graduated bootcamp in November, graduated A school in June and is home on leave right now getting ready to head to her first command. Hang in there ladies it's an emotional roller coaster but the friends you make on Navy for Moms are life long friends! Good luck to your future sailors!
