Vicky, why are you posting messages on members in Stockton area and inviting them just to the Northern California Navy Moms group and not here? There are a few members here who are interested in a local group and would like to generate some interest here. If you don't want to be part of it, that is fine, but why be counter productive? What is the deal here? I have others helping with the Nor Cal group already. Your help is not necessary.

Oh, ok, no problem, Bea.

Sorry, Vicky - haven't seen your request yet? I had around 65. Will go through it this weekend. I feel bad bacause some of the new members don't know anyone so they send me a friend request. I try to send each of them a nice note with an explanation why I limiting my addressbook to a certain number. You all remember what it is like at the beginning. I deleted a lot of friends (from out of the area or people I haven't pm for a long time). I always writ a farewell message. Often as soon I delete someone, I get a request back. I am like a safety blanket for some of the new members. paddysmina and I have had to re-add each other 3 times! I think N4M had some update on the system 3 months ago, it just doesn't allow me to send out messages, except one at a time and it behaves strangely.

Just sent a pm to TrekkieDad and Rachel (SO Mom) asking them to rejoin this group. I think tys'mom is from Turlock. Is Mariposa nearby? The N4M addressbook is goofy when you try to send out a message to multiple recipients. It' probably because I had too many friends. I had 500 (but down 320+). So if I want to send out a message, I have to do each one individually. If we can get everyone who lives in 209 to join this group, it would be great. Vicky, Roni and javismom, how about the three of you become admins?

Hi javismom, I don't know much about recruiters (what I do know I don't like) but Bea does. I never talked to my daughters recruiter, as she was 24 and able to handle that on her own. I found N4Ms from the TV ad. I do know that some Moms have been in contact with recruiters, this is all fairly new so that is probably why some have packets and some don't. I have been on here since my daughter left last year, been to 3 M&Gs, none in the Stockton area. You could organize one. See Bea's lovely schedule on the Nor Cal group, and find an open spot! I sent you a friend request. ~ Vicky

javismom, You are godsend. Are you willing to send out some welcoming messages? I will alter the message and walk you through how to do (easiest by phone).

Please go back to what I posted two/ three days ago and read what Quiltlady and I would like to do to let the Navy Recruiting District - San Francisco know about N4M. Vicky, Roni and javismom - could the three of you be the key contact people for 209 (only yours screen name will be supplied)?

Hi Vicky, so I saw the M&G dates, but is there ever any around Stockton? I guess the Stockton recruiters office had a BBQ two weeks ago, but we didn't know about it, my niece did and they went. Was it because my son doesn't have a job yet? Either way, I was thinking of going to talk to the recruiter and asking him if I can help, am I allowed to do that? I'm hoping that if I can help them do things like that I can also do some outreach for N4Ms. Any thoughts, suggestions? I need friends!!! : )

javismom, that is fantastic. Good links Vicky. I strong believe centralized events are preferable - just the time and cost of traveling. It also occurs to me that more casual gatherings seem more inviting. Vicky, javismom and roni - how about one of you take the lead and set up a casual - may be not on the 2nd or 16th just in case someone wants to attend all three!!

I can't do that as I don't live in the Stockton area. I am in the foothills, an hour drive from Stockton. Still 209 area, but not centrally located. I am also an hour drive to Sacramento (just a different direction) so M&Gs there are just as good. I tried to PM you, Bea, but you are not on my friend's list. What happen to you? I didn't delete you . Did you delete me? Please add me back, I sent you friend request, but you haven't added me back.

Hi everyone! I know my son is technically not in yet, and my niece goes to boot camp later this year but I'd like to be more involved here. Our recruiter is super nice but I never knew anything about Navy for Moms. It wasn't until my niece wanted to join and told him that her mom was NOT happy that he gave her this whole packet (my son didn't get one since I guess we were good with his decision) and she showed it to me and I saw the pamphlet. I assumed maybe cutbacks didn't allow for distribution of all this publication to EVERY one that came in. I couldn't wait to join!! Let me know if there's anything I can do from Stockton, I'd love to help more!
