Bugsmom & mikes mom, look who has joined the group! It's Sherry - another Corpsmen mom.

Since the August 28 is the target date for a joint 209 Moms and Central Valley Moms meet and greet, Merced would actually be midpoint between Stockton and Fresno, both being about 70 miles from the North end and the South End. Trekkie Dad, Angela, mattsmom and Lukesmom, Turlock or Merced OK? There are two moms (Nette and Amphibious Force who are from Madera and Merced (they should be joining soon). BHappy is down by Fresno. Merced is the closest "big" city to Bugsmom in Mariposa. A number of the earlier members are located in Manteca - so it depends on who is coming.
Vicky, time to move closer to civilization. Just kidding. I know you love your Foothills. It's really nice that you take the time to drive all the way to see us.
The August 28 is separate from the June 26 at Sutter Creek and it's two months apart. Marie Calendar has wonderful chicken/turkey pot pies but don't eat their salad (except from the make-it-yourself salad bar).

I drove 2 hours to Neavda City, I drove 3 hours to Bea's house, I drove 3 hours again to San Jose, then I drove 1 hour to Fair Oaks. All to meet you all Navy Moms!!!

would like to have some 209 Moms come June 26th. It doesn't matter how the groups are based, we are all Navy Moms!!! I posted the link in Bea's Dissussion Forum "Links to Meets and Greets" above. Sutter Creek is only an hour drive from Stockton. Much closer then the Bay area where most of the M&Gs are.

I would be happy to be of any help to BHappy(Sharon) and Bugsmom if they need another co-hostess. Do you? Modesto or Stockton would be a good place. Merced is too far south. Marie Callenders would be nice. There is one in Modesto; MODESTO

Saturday August 28th looks good to me.

Vicky. I just started a discussion group - "Our Meet & Greet Links" - this is such a special area. I know there are many more Navy families in the general vicinity. This site became inactive for a period and it just take a little time and effort and get it going again. I am not sure that I would combine the Navy Moms Rock and 209 in one meet and greet since one group is geographically based and the other is socially based (across the US). I would cancel it if you don't get more people to sign up and just work with Bugsmom and BHappy to get a good turnout for a joint 209 and Central Valley meet and greet. However, it does not hurt to post the link under the above discussion. I am glad you like the blanket. You are right. You never know what you need (I also keep water and some food in your case because you are around a more remote area).

OK. I have to go take THE PRINCE (I mean son #2) to lunch. Talk to you all later.

Come on 209 people. How about a few comments? Pretty please.

Don't know how to add my M&G to this page, but it is a joint Navy Moms Rock/209 area M&G. Amador County is not in the valley it is in the foothills but still 209. I need RSVPs within the next 2 weeks in order to make reservations at the reaturat. It is an Italian-American restaurant. Italian food is very popular up here. Twisted Fork is inside the historic American Exchange hotel, one of my fav buildings downtown.
Bea, if u can make it I will try to get u a Gold Rush golf cap. I'm waiting for the official election results to see if our golf course is approved. I hope we win! I like the golf blanket u gave me, I keep it my car as an emergency blanket. Never know when I might break down on a mountain hwy. Lol!

After looking some of the dates taken up already by meet and greets: in Roseville July 10, in Los Altos July 25, in San Ramon Aug 14, in Hillsborough Sept 15. I would recommend Aug 28 Sat (Indoor). If the location is along 99 - we could pull from both the 209 and Central Valley Group - How about a FIRST joint 209/Central Valley meet and greet? Bugsmom and BHappy, would the two of you be co-organizers?
