Marsha and BUGSY, I found some more Corpsmen moms in the 209 and Central Valley area. I have sent a message to them about a meet and greet for 209. Mattsmom said definitely already. The Prince (my younger high-maintenance son) is home, so I am doing lots of laundry. I don't complain bc I think about how Marsha would love to be able to do Mike's laundry or Bugsy for her son or Vicky for Christy. OK. no more venting for the night. But tomorrow is another day.

You're right BB, Copperopolis is a great place, just not in the summer. Very dry and very hot. Hoping more people come to this group, it seems like a great group of people. Take care, back to work for me too.

Bugsmom, I have 9 friends who are from the 209 area code who are not members on the 209 Group! I just private message them all to join the group and about a meet and greet possibility. I love Copperopolis (we golfed at Greenhorn Creek and Saddle Creek) - too hot in the summer time but wonderful in spring and fall. Talk to you all later. Better get some work done.

Vicky - Yes, I'm on the Corpsmen moms and dads site as well. I've talked to Mike's Mom, very helpful lady. They're a great group of people on that site. The sand box is the scariest place in the world to me, not hearing from my son cripples me sometimes. I've always worried, but nothing like this! OMG! Thank you for your prayers, I say them many times a day myself. I do believe God is watching over our sailors, praying that he's shining on mine right now.

BB - That would be great to get more families on here, the 209 area is one of the best in CA! If you can get a meet and greet closer to Stockton or Turlock that would be wonderful! I feel like I'm the only one up here in these hills. Vicky is about 2 hours from me! I'll keep hunting around when I can for more of us and invite them to the site. There has to be more of us out there somewhere, the 209 is a large area!

I know there are more 209 families out there. We just have to let them know that this group exist. It would be really great if we can get a meet and greet somewhere along 99. We have been to Stockton, Manteca, Modesto, Turlock on many occasions for various sports activities when the boys were young - we are very fond of the area and know it somewhat. If we get a 209 meet and greet set up, I'll include the event in the calendar that is posted on both Nor Cal and SF Bay sites.

Yes, it would be good to talk to other Moms, whose kids have are in/been to the sand box. I do understand how Moms worry, I'm a worry-wart myself. I pray every morning for all our sailors and soldiers safety. Have u connected with the Corpsmen group? Mike'smom (Marsha) is in that group, her son just got home.

Trekkie Dad - keep us posted on that knee. Hope it's not bothering him as much. I grew up in East Stockton, East Fremont Street area.

Vicky - I think you're a little over 2 hours from where I am. My son has been in for over 4 years now. As I said, he's in Afghan right now, I hate it! I have so much trouble when he's out and about, they call it out of patrol, I call it not being able to call home. It makes me panic and I need to be reminded that he's ok and is working. Don't care for where his office is currently! I'll check out the meet and greets and see if I can make it to one of them. It would be nice to connect with other Navy parents face to face.

Hi BugsMom, I live in the foothills east of Stockton in Sutter Creek. North of you near the junction of Hwys 49 & 88. My daughter has been in the Navy for a year now, still in GL. She is almost finshed with AECF-FC A school, learning Fire Control. I've meet TrekkieDad, he is a nice man. Hope you can come to one of our M&Gs. They are on the Nor. Cal group page.
