I have sent a Friend Request to several whom I think have loved ones on the USS NY. Please contact me ASAP if you do, because I need some information from you if you would like for your loved one to received one of the embroidered pillowcases. We still have a few left. If not to loved ones of this group, then some other lucky sailor will get one. All will get a pillowcase no matter what and all are made with special love.

Kirsten, I've tried to add you as a friend. I didn't get your request. I have sent you a message to your private e-mail. Are there others out there for whom the request didn't work?

Kirsten, Sue here. I will make sure that she gets your email address. We are getting close to having a delievery date-maybe 2 weeks from now. So ladies, if you'd like your child to have one of the embroidered pillowcases, you need to let Dori (DC) know.
I mailed off about 37 pillowcases to the mom who is the "gatherer" on Wed. I have to mail another box-waiting to find out how many more we need.
and moms, no worries! I have all that we need, but 3 other navy moms are mailing some.

you are welcome. I have a fabulous crew and couldn't do without their help! Dori has the sailor on the ship and just wanted 1 special pillowcase for him. Well, her heart desire has turned into a huge blessing for all the ship's personnel.
So she gets the credit, I am just the "nut" who said let's do them all. ahahl.

Hey moms, I would like to point out the pillowcase that I am holding in my profile picture. I made this one, but my friend Pat in VA (not a Navy mom) made 32 like that. And Lyn embroidered the ship number on them.
We would like to give these to the children of N4M, but you need to sign up with Dori in the above thread. She is the reason that we are even doing the NY.
7 are spoken for, but if you would like one of these for your child, please follow her instructions.
ALL th pillowcases are special, some just have alittle more fancy detailing on them. We are in the process of gathering them in VA.

LeAnna, you may not have noticed the discussion group above that tells about the pillowcases that have been made for the crew of the USS New York. In it, I request that people in this group who have loved ones (son, daughter, spouse, etc.) to please make me a friend with the message, "I'm a NY Mom." Please do so.

So far only five have done so and I know there are more on this list who qualify.

Suzan, congrats! They knew I was on the Lincoln during tiger cruise, cause I talked to everyone and got a personal tour of the gallery. skipped part of the air show to do that. It was important to me.'
Great job-let them know about us Navy moms.

that is so exciting. congrats to all moms! I wish I could've been there!

hey Suzan, I was yelling at the TV. HOWEVER, you can go to foxnews and get it online. I checked, it's there.
I missed the ringing of the bells and only got a glimpse of the sailors running on board!
I wanted to see those faces that will soon be able to put their "heads at ease".
Comment by DC - G'mother of My Fav Sailor on November 2, 2009 at 2:00pm
Sue has told you that the Heads at Ease group is making pillowcases for everyone on board the ship. We need help with a small "problem" and I want the "moms", i.e., members of this group, to help us solve it. Believe me it will be a pleasant solution. Please make me a friend and when you do, add a message stating, "I'm a USS NY mom." Then I will PM you the details. Many thanks.
