Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Good morning USS New York moms. Your comments make me cry. And it is for this reason that the Heads at Ease pillowcase crew is doing making a pillowcase for every member who will serve abroad this ship!
It is our honor and privilege to do so. They are a gift from the people of the United States of Amercia.
If you'd like to know more about us, check out the Heads at Ease page.

Darlene, I am very sorry about the loss of your father. It is so hard to lose a parent.

Jan, I am without words. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. Prayers are with you and your family.

Tamara, If you knit, then check out Molly's adopt a sailor. We are knitting, crotcheting and making fleece scarfs for our Dec group of adoptees. The scarfs will be heading for Afganistan.

Dori, Well said. I couldn't sell them even if I wanted to because the seal is copyrighted. I can only give them away. Ask me again in a few weeks, if family members of NY sailors want one we can work something out. I want to get as much use out of the pattern as I can. Makes the money I paid for worth it.

Llove, I received it. I haven't opened it because it is "safe" in the packaging until the send date arrives. I can't wait to see it finished.

Tamara, Check out the Heads at Ease group. We send pillowcases to deployed/injured military personnel, primarily sailors. Wish we could send to all but not possible. We can always use more volunteers!! The pillowcases are a gift of love and not for sale. When we adopt a group we do everything possible to make each unique. Each carries a heart, showing the love that surrounds the recipient while s/he is away from home.
