Love reading the post of other ABH moms.  My son, like many of yours, did not want to work indoors!!!  From the YouTube videos, it looks like he'll get his wish for a fast paced job!

pandabugz,

They get their order at the end of A School, just before they are released for leave.

Thank you! Another thing, do they et their orders in bootcamp or A school?

Seal, search and rescue...don't they all!?
@panda, deployment depends on what the ship they report to is doing, not on their rate. Some sailors get flown right to their ship if its deployed. Others don't deploy for a while, depending on the ships schedule or if their ship is in dry dock....or they can do TAD (temporary active duty) on another ship that is deployed. Just depends.

Of course he had the dream (what boy doesn't) of being a SEAL.  This coming from the son who sleeps past noon, plays video games till 4 in the morning and can't remember where his wallet is half the time. Lol.

After A school and they get stationed somewhere, how long do they usually stay on land before deploying for the first time for ABH?

Oh gosh - mine would be soooo bored with an office type job.  I guess I'm just thankful he's going to be on a ship and not a foot soldier.

Mine too I was also hopping for an office job, and if I say anything I get the long Mom, is my life
