Congrats to you, Glenni, and to your son for receiving the NROTC scholarship at Auburn.  Our son is a LT stationed in San Diego.  He's been in since 2012.  I'm sure he'll enjoy his college and Navy experiences.  If you have any questions, just ask here.  Fair winds and following seas.

New Navy mom here. My son applied to the Academy, but didn't receive an appointment. He applied for a NROTC scholarship and also enlisted as a Nuke through the DEP. I found this site the day after he came home from MEPS as I tried to deal with the reality that he might not receive a scholarship and might end up shipping off... 2 days ago he got word that he has received a NROTC scholarship to Auburn where he will study aerospace engineering. Anybody else in the group have a future sailor at Auburn?

Hi y'all.  My husband and I just moved back to Mobile after being in the Denver area for 8 years (brrrrr).  So glad to be back in the South.  Are there any moms from Mobile or across the Bay (Baldwin County)? If so, would love to meet some of you. Our son is stationed at Naval Medical Center San Diego.

Hey y'all, just wanted to pop in and say Hi. Also, we have an amazing group on Facebook called Alabama Navy Families if y'all want to join us, and I noticed that someone started a group for North Alabama. Can y'all point me in the right direction?

Good morning Bama! I am in San Diego, but AL is home. My son is SHIP 02 DIV 915 PIR FEB26. He is headed to A school in P'cola after graduation. I will be in Mobile for 2 weeks after. Anyone down south?
