We are now awaiting the interview process with the Blue and Gold Officer. Hoping it will take place in the next week.

Good evening all,
Saturday I had the awesome opportunity to join with the New Jesey Parents Club and tailgate at West Point for the double header basketball game, where the Ladies won their game but the Men lost theirs :-(.

It was cold (but not as cold as last year where they told me it was only 17 degrees) but it was a geat experience. I got to see first hand how amazing Mids are and what wonderful, responsible, respectful young people they are. Some great pictures of the Mids were taken and can be seen at the Club's website, www.usna-njpc.org.

If your Mid came over to eat, their picture may be there looking awesome.

Congrats Taisha Washington-Williamson and son James! Welcome aboard. My son is a plebe too. If you can go a day early and tour the yard, it is a wonderful opportunity to view, and get your bearings at your own pace. You can park at the Stadium and take the shuttle over, or if you are close you can walk. Shortly before I day you will receive your passes for parking and yard access. It will also contain passes to what we call the Mid-store. There are 2 stores, one at the visitors center, and the other back behind Bancroft Hall. There will be a schedule of activities and a picnic to sign up for.

The report packet will also contain a time for him to report. You can go an hour early if you would like, but don't worry about going much earlier than that. While there are 1200 of the finest young men and women who report for Induction, and their families, the report times are staggered to process accordingly. Last year several tried to report early, but were sent out of the line and told to report at the time stated.

It will be even more magical than Disney. The Navy does it right, and does it WELL!

Hi Betsey,

We do keep "running" into one another, don't we?! LOL She's fine, but no not home with family and is headed back out to training now. Rather not say about her whereabouts in March as per this site's OPSEC rules and it IS accessed by non-military folks who aren't crossed checked at all. If you're catching my drift.

Hi Ladies,

Just dropped in to let folks know that my daughter has safely returned from Haiti and doing humanitarian relief efforts. I'm so proud of her shipmates and the Navy for actually being, A global force for good!! Thank all who kept her in your thoughts and/or prayers. I can now breathe a sigh of relief....at least until March...lol

Welcome ProudMom23 (Ashley) and congratulations. How wonderful to have early acceptance. We were fortunate as well, as I used the time to prepare myself, and to be there for him. I saw a big change in Scott once accepted. He just finished his 1st semester as a plebe, and is doing well. Scott graduated late in May and we traveled for all but 1 week before we went. We also went up 2 days early to see DC for the day, and then go on the yard early to get our bearings before the official I day.

Enjoy the days and moments that follow. She will be in the best of care. Her Navy Family, and we will be there for you as well.

Hi Tiasha. Congrats to James, and his mom! We know who helped him over the years. The months that follow will be unbelievable. My Scott got a verbal before Christmas, and that was his Christmas gift to me. I cried tears of joy, and sadness for several months, BUT come I-DAY I WAS ready to let him go. I was able to be there for him. It was dad who cried. Ain't it sweet....

Good evening,
My son, James received his Certificate of Appointment. He is so very excited. We (especially me) are still in shock. We knew once we got word that he received his nomination right before Christmas that it was just a matter of time. But just looking at that folder made everything a reality for me. To be honest, my tears were of pride and sadness. with a touch of apprehensiveness thrown in. So very proud of all of his accomplishments in his very short 16 years here, yet saddened by the fact that he will be leaving home a boy on June 30 and coming home a MAN. Where does the time go?
