Darlene and all,

Your husband, children are all in my prayers for safety and protection. I hope you all will join with me in prayer for my daughter Lauren and all her shipmates as they head to Haiti this week to provide Disaster Relief to the island of Haiti.

Yes, Leslie you are right it is a wonderful place and a wonderful education. One of the best thing is you get to know the other parents unlike civilian college were you might only get to know the roommates parents if you are lucky.

Some of my best friends are ones I made through the academy.

Inga....Congrats on your son's appointment to USNA. What to expect; a long roller coaster ride.

If you ever want to know what is happening at the academy, make friends with someone that as a daughter!

Enjoy your time with your son this coming year, it will be one of change and challenge.

Hi everyone, James went on his CVW last weekend and had a fantastic time. It further showed him (and me) that he is making the right choice for him. Dropping him off, my husband and I noticed how he just blended and fit right in. I posted some of the pictures. Will post the rest as well as the ones from the USS New York later on today. Enjoy an awesome day.

Congratlations Taisha, and to your son James!! What a way to go, with a LOA and its not even December yet!! That is outstanding and reflects well on all the hard work you and your husband have put into him. My thoughts & prayers are with you for his nomination(s).

Deadlines for Service Academy requests for NY elected officials is November 1 so hopefully we will hear something regading interview dates shortly after that. He is scheduled for his drag weekend Nov 12 and he is even more excited now than ever before. So happy and proud.

Good morning,
James received an LOA in the mail yesterday! He is so happy!!! I am running thru all sorts of emotions, happy, sad, scared, relieved, all I have been doing is crying since I read it at least 20 times. Just waiting now for a nomination.
My other 2 children are showing mixed emotions. Very exciting times at my house.

Leslie if you're online now, the game will be telecased on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) Channel. Hope this helps.
