Has anyone heard from their 10/7 grads since they've been at A School? I've sent a couple e-mails and tried calling a few times and haven't heard anything back. Didn't know if they were restricted from use through phase 1?

My daughter is not in your group, but while in A school they have their phones everyday after they get out of school and all weekend.

Hi Concerned Dad...my son also graduated from BC last Friday.  I did have an issue with getting ahold of him.  Not sure if yours is at the same place as mine as mine is in the temporary hold unit.  If that's the case they are currently at least as of last night on "secure liberty" which they can not leave their building unless its a duty day....seems like someone got in serious (legal serious) trouble in that group so everyone is being punished.  I know my son can not even turn on cell phone till after 3:30central and then they only have good signal in one of the rooms (which was closed for a couple of days due to floor stripping and waxing).  Now they have that room back, however, the room where the internet is is now the one closed due to the floor stripping and waxing.  I know my son is bored out of his mind because he can't even listen to his mp3 till after 330 but he is hoping that the "secure liberty" gets taken off this weekend.  Hope you get a hold of her/him soon!!!!

The idiot who did the stupid thing, better be glad to he will never meet me. If you know the story, my daughter was who's rack he went in to. She is so glad to be out of THU right now.

Mooselover - I'm sure he's glad he will never meet me too!!  My son is still in THU and they still are on lock-down because of it!!  Can't leave the building at all unless it's a "duty" day.  My son will probably be there for another week or so and he is really getting stir crazy and miserable for some other idiots actions!!!  Is your daughter doing ok?  My thoughts and prayers are with her and have been since I heard of the incident!!!  HUGS to ya both!!!!

Thank you!! She is fine. Nothing happened, but it is still that sense of security. She did make a formal complaint, along with the other girl. And she is so relieved that he will be seperated from the Navy.

Concernedad.. did your sailor just graduated BC on 10/7 ??? If so...before they start "A" school they attend a week of "Indoctrination"....then a short wait to start ATT (Apprentice Technical Training) which is about three months long...then another wait to start "A" school.

If they are on some kind of restriction due to  disciplinary action as "Motheroftwo" stated below...then that might account for your not hearing from your sailor. However, usually, once they move from RTC over to the school side (TSC)..then they can use their phones or their computers during their free time.

What is your sailor's rate? What job will he/she be studying in A school for?

finally heard from him. It seems they're being kept very busy. Muster three times a day, up at 0400, he says they're getting very little sleep. I guess he'll be happy when phase 1 is over.

He's studying ET.

Glad you heard from him. You know that old saying... "no news is good news" !

Welcome to the world of always waiting to hear something..or catching a glimmer of a pic of them somewhere!

If you have not already done so, join the ET/FC forum. It's always hopping with lots of info. We learn a lot and is also nice to hear success stories of others.

I heard from him on Sunday via text, but nothing else yet. I hope he can cone home for Christmas!
