It would be nice to share stories and thoughts with others that had their loved ones ship out around the same time! Hopefully graduation will be a similar joy for all of us!!! it helps to have that support..ESP being new to the USNavy..

Hi Chrissey

My son also left on Dec 6th and I just received his box today. Anxiously waiting for the form letter, so I can start sending him letters. Happy to connect with you and other moms...

hi,

my son left on the 12/6/2011 also. I have received his box, and letter from the staff. has anyone else heard from their son or daughter?

my son left on the 6th.  I never go the phone call that he was there.  But I did received the box today. That made feel a little better to know that he was there.  Just seeing his hand  writing.  Now  I just set back and wait for the letter.  Hope to talk to you all along the 8wks and hope to see you all at the PIR. I had to laugh when I got the box because even is underwear was there.  Will get back to you all later got to run.  Take care.  love ya all

Got our box today also, I thought it was funny that his underwear was in there to, the other thing that I thought was weird is that his jean legs were rolled up??????

My son left on the 5th.  I received the box today and his jeans were also rolled up.  What's up with that?????

I told my son to throw away his underwear. He must have thrown out his jeans also, bc they weren't in the box.
OMG, my sons pant legs were rolled up too...do you know why?I'm curious. my son left the 8th, no form letter yet.

The pants legs are rolled up because they are fitted for boots and shoes on a special machine. They don't want them falling back down and afterwards they don't have time to roll them down before they strip off all their civilian clothing.

Hi there!!

So glad to see a few more of us with the Dec 6th date, Jean I am really sorry that you didn't get the call...I think I only got a 1/2 a call..I didnt get a "goodbye" or " I have to go"...just a five second call and a dialtone...I havent received "the box" yet...I am hoping for tomorrow....my emotions  have been going up and down..I was better yesterday than I am today...listening to everyone at work discussing thier Christmas plans really got to me today..and I lost it when the Alvin & the Chipmunks christmas song came on the radio... I read somewhere on Navyformoms that they play that song on Christmas morning for the recruits...hope everyone has a good night

The "box" came today for us too...waiting on the letter..and I hope it gets better..just Wierd and feel lost without a voice..I will feel better when I can write and hear back from him!

My son arrived on the 8th so maybe they will be there together.  I have received my phone call that same night but nothing else.  Do you know an address of how we can write to our kids?
