Hi Chrissey!  I'm a new member and live in Laconia NH as well!  My son left for bootcamp on October 2, 2012.  His PIR date is Nov. 30th.   I am too so very proud of my son David!! He was adamant about joining the Navy to serve our country, have a brighter future, make my father proud (just before my father passed my son stood by his papa's bedside and said to him "Papa, I love you very much, and I'm gonna make you so proud, I'm going in the Navy"  It was the most bittersweet moment  (My dad was a very proud Marine...he was in Korea in the 50's).  I haven't gotten any letters yet, and only the "call" when he arrived.  I miss him soooooo much, as we spoke several times a day, I saw him everyday.  It's so hard.  I'm sure he is doing fine.  I just want to hear one little word!!  How did you get thru your son"s bootcamp?  Were is he now?  It's nice to connect with another Navy mom, especially one that lives in the same City!!!
