It's crazy. But I guess when you think about it, there are so many mom's out there that have no clue about this site. I wouldn't have found it if I hadn't been frantically searching the net for anything and everything that had to do with the Navy! Ericka's recruiter never said anything about the site, then when I asked him about it, he said, "Oh yeah! I never remember to tell people about that site." If he wasn't so good about everything else, I might have let him have it! lol There's also a lot of other groups, but I know you, like me are on those as well, so hopefully we'll start seeing some more responses. Isn't it funny? I used to be a very patient person! lol

Just found out Emily has this Ship 14 Div 290 a few minutes ago from her recruiter. Hope to get the form letter confirmation soon. Her box of clothes came today and will open it tonight when I get home from work!

Yay Emily!!!! Now at least I know Ericka has some other girls with her! lol Where are you all from Kira?

Mama,

They usually try to put girls together in one ship but they never have enough to make one ship full of girls so they throw some boys in but they're not allowed to talk to each other. My daughter's best friend was just there last fall and is in C school already even though they enlisted the same day in May 2011. She had to wait 14 months to get to bootcamp but never found out why. She's 19 (born 3/11/93) and has a twin brother at home.

Miss her like crazy!! Got her boxes today from BC at home and will tear it open when I get home from work.

Getting the box was a joy! I gave her a speech about how when they start to receive mail she will be anxiously waiting to hear her name, and then proceeded to tell her how we (mom's and family) will be having the same kind of feelings here at home. So WRITE! lol. She must have taken it to heart cuz she wrote a letter on the plane. Nothing great, except it's from her and she says she loves us and already misses us. Probably will frame it! lol. This is really affecting me crazily! Now I just wish I'd get the form letter. I've gone ahead and sent 3 letters out (we had a going away party for her and I had everyone write her a letter that I would mail as soon as I got her address- there's enough of them to send 2 a day along with my own) but I'm worried, with everything I've heard that the address may not be right, so it will be good to get confirmation!

Always a mom~ I copied my daughter's writing on the form letter: block capitals, diagonal slash through zeros. I used black ink. Also I heard that it's not necessary to write recruit training command, but I did because that's what my SR did right under ship/div #.

I hope you are doing well and have found other moms in your group. Talk soon :)

Janis,

Oh no! Something else to worry about! lol. I hadn't heard any of that. I did use a black pen, by accident! I did not use block letters, but I did print not use cursive. I followed the format listed on the recruit training command site.

Check that site for the correct street address and zip code. They vary according to ship #

Julie

I've sent fairly generic letters and ones from those she didn't know that well. I explained in my first letter that there may be a chance that they are delayed due to the address. Once I get the form letter I will send exactly as she puts on the letter!

IF I EVER GET THE SILLY THING! lol

Janis,

Praying for you today. Hope you have a good one and praying you receive your box or form letter or something! Gosh, wouldn't a phone call right about now be awesome?! I know...too soon, but a mom can hope!

Please use the MI ...it could really help with the mail sorting. You never know if someone has the same name.
Our daughters are in the same ship 14 div 290 but her recruiter told me a different address (3405 Sailor Dr). I'm not mailing anything until I get the form letter from her.
