My son left yesterday for boot camp. He's been waiting for more than a year so he was ready to go.
I'm just so darn proud of him. Miss him so much already. I fell asleep with my phone in my hand waiting
for his call. It came after 10 p.m.

My son did as well! So exciting to see them experience this new journey! Can't wait to hear all of the stories as I'm sure you feel the same :) Good luck to you and your SR!!
My son left for BC on Tue 3/5 I received my call that night around 10:00pm. He too was so ready to go.
I'm so proud. My husband is retired Master Chief so he kind of knows what to expect. I also fell asleep with the phone in my hand. I guess that's a mom thing :) We were so worried about the flight and the weather.
So your journey begins. My daughter when thru the Air Force boot camp a year ago. She's thriving.
Now it's my boy. The Navy seems toughter but I know our boys will be great. Breathe - you will
do fine.
I changed the ringtone on my phone to something completley obnoxious otherwise I would have slet thru it!
My son left yesterday too. I got that call at 12a EST. Maybe they'll end up in the same group!
Anyone else get their box today? Now patiently waiting on form letter
Still at work, can't wait to get home now! :) My son did something really cool for me. I got to work today and there was a gift for me on my desk with a note attached to it. He and my co-worker ''schemed'' to surprise me a week before he left. It had a note attached to it, which I know this probably sounds silly since he has only been gone a week but it was so good to see his handwriting!
That's not silly at all, proudmom! And you should be a proud mom...that was an awesome thing for him to do for you!! So thoughtful!!!!! :)
proudmom, What a sweet son you have!
That is SO sweet. I asked my son to leave a note in his pants and i highly doubt he did. I guess I'll find out in the next few days.
