OMGosh I thought he was going to work in a clinic or hospital.. He is attached to the Marines... So your son went green side... I didn't know..
My son is on a ship right now and as long as he and his Marines stay on that ship I will be happy... I do a lot of praying too.. We will just do it together : )
Marsha - thank you yet again for your words of encouragement. Unfortunately, he will be frequently deployed from Okinawa with the 3rd Marines. I am praying, however, that circumstances will change because, as you said, I don't want him in harms way. And yes, it does help to think about all of the wonderful things he is going to see and experience. I grew up in the Air Force, so I have somewhat of an inside perspective of what military life is like. Yes, you're right, I need to focus on the positives and bounce my thoughts away from the negatives. :)
Billie - You have to look at Cody going to Japan as a good thing .. Very positive.. He will be going to a wonderful country with all the sites he will get to see : ) How wonderful for him... You have to put everything into perspective and thank the Lord above that he isn't in Harms way.... I hope you never experience that... You have to know this is what he wants to do... He is getting wonderful training and he is no longer a boy but a man.. What he will know is more them we could fathom.... My goodness he will learn so much while he is at CL... Be proud and please don't worry about him...
I know the empty feeling your going through.. If you know he will be going to Japan after this traing feel lucky.. : ) I want you to come over to our group and get to know all the moms and the 2 dads that we have... Carol's son was in Japan for a while so you could ask her some questions.. : )
See ya there,
Marsha
Navymomx3 - I haven't heard from my daughter but as soon as I do I will post it...
Ruthella - You helped me so much and I will always be so grateful to you... For the first few months when we were all getting to know each other I had no idea that your son was where mine was... And I will never forget when I went on and said " I haven't heard from M in 2 or 3 weeks" I was so scared.. You said " Sweetie its been 6 weeks since I have heard from my son"... Our cubs are busy working... Man, did that ever calm me down... Billie - Talk about a sisterhood! You will need that group.. Please come and join.. Just jump in and say Hi !
I can tell you are good friends. :) Just reading your messages has significantly brightened my evening. . .thank you! Just spoke with Cody and he arrived safely to CL but is having a hard time getting settled. I think the new surroundings, new people, and the unexpected are overwhelming him. So, I am doing all that I can do right now and that is praying. I am learning that my new calling as a mother is to be a prayer warrior on behalf of my son. :)
Ruthella: Nine years! So you, too, became a sudden empty nester and have had to adjust. Your yacht trip sounds wonderful! I bet it was very therapeutic. :)
Thank you both again for welcoming me to the group and for being such great encouragers. I will check out the corpsman moms and dads group. Thanks!!!
Why Thank You ( In my best southern Drawl )... OMGosh Ruthella I told my Oklahoma story to a friend last night and he couldn't stop laughing.Hmmmm was it my accent ? LOL I feel the same way about you and your wonderful family... hazel still talks about the wedding : )
Billie a few of us have been on N4Ms for a long while.. What a great group..
Yes, I am very proud of all my kids.. I am proud of all our kids !
