I don't even know who you should contact, Hubby has always taken care of any changes like that.

No- this charge has been on every check..they are also taking out double child support :/ I am just not sure who to get in touch with...

All they should be taking for food is his BAS, unless they delayed on taking it out when he got there and now he owes for it. Say he's been there two months, and last month the paperwork still hadn't gotten through for the pay change. They'll take it out when it catches up, much like back pay but annoying.

Hi All! Quick question: does anyone know the contact information for the pay office? There are some questions about my husbands pay check (is it normally for them to deduct 600-800/ mo for meal?) and I dont know who to contact, and he is never out in time to make it to an open office...

DramaSoul, hi there!  Which squadron is he in?  I need to ask my son which one he's in.....I think there's 4 squadrons in each Platoon.  Your son was on the beach huh?  San Diego is so pretty!

TexasMomof2...my son is in Platoon 1 as well!  I talked with him today.  He was on the beach helping out with a triathlon.  He is excited that next week MCMAP begins next week.

Hi ladies!  My son started the other day also.  He's in Platoon 1.  I look forward to learning about everyone and their sons.....and their days.  My oldest has been in since 2007 and is HM3.  I also have a younger son that is PO3 and is an aircrew rescue swimmer stationed in Norfolk with a special operations squadron.  My sons are third generation Navy.  Hooyah!

I had to pay extra to make sure the tickets were refundable, so I don't think there's a penalty...at least I hope not! We had talked about me and his sister staying on base, but it was cheaper booking with the entire package online. He's already talking about pushing his flight to Sunday so we can spend Saturday downtown San Diego. Ive only ever traveled to Northern California, which is beautiful so I'm really excited to visit southern Cali! We were hoping to do a state park too, so if anyone has any recommendations...I'm all ears!!! Thanks in advance! : )

Thanks, MarissaLeigh!  I haven't talked to my son since last Friday night.  He is in Platoon 1.  I will check out Priceline. I know there is some place to stay on the base, I think.  I will look into that as well.  If you need to change your flight, is there a penalty or fee?

It makes sense they're in Phase 1 since they have officially started FMTB.

DramaSoul: I went onto Priceline and placed a bid for my trip. It may have also been cheaper due to booking two flights as my sister in law is coming with me. We're staying in Oceanside, at the Ramada. It's not the nicest, but it has a shower and a bed and is about 5 or so miles from Camp Pendleton.
I talked to Andy last night, he's in Platoon 3 and he's the Platoons Corpsman. Meaning while they're out on hikes and what not and something happens to one of the students...he'll the the one treating them. Very cool! Someone from his platoon already passed out yesterday, poor thing had to get stiches and everything! I was wrong about their Liberty Phase, they're back at Phase 1. So, just like San Antonio, these poor guys can't do anything!
I'm pretty sure they get uniforms today!! Our boys are going Green Side! So proud they've made it this far! Only 8 weeks, right? Hoping that I'll talk to him tonight, more updates to follow.
