we got all the test results back. Steven has pnemonia. He had a fever already..and was having trouble breathing but didnt say anything. Just vwanted to get thru it. He passed out. He had heat exhaustion too. He got to the hospital just in time apparently his kidneys and liver started to fail due to severe dehydration. He will be staying in the hospital a few days. He already sounds better fever is down and rehydrated. Thank God those boys acted so quickly. Best part he CAN graduate..will redo the hike when he is better. Thank you for al your support and concerns! see you on SEPT 30th..yay! So happy he is going to be ok! !

Hello Everyone,

Looking forward to graduation next week...Woooo...Hoooo...Stevensmom, I am so sorry for your son...I do hope he does graduate with the rest of the young men, and hope that he's all better.

Hi stevensmom, there's a possibility that he may not be able to participate in the actual ceremony, but may be able to still graduate.  If that's the case he may be assigned to watch the bags in the tent behind the classroom facility during the ceremony.  I've read where this has happened to some others in the past.  The main thing is that he heals from the heat exhaustion!  Congrats to all of the upcoming grads!

Hi Maria Andy's Mo,

My son is graduating this September from CP...then he's off to 29 Palms...don't know all the details yet

Comment by vettespace on September 15, 2011 at 8:30am
Hi Maria, my corpsman graduated CP FMTB in June 2010.  He was flying out to his permanent duty station a couple days later, so I booked a place in Old Town San Diego, he had his bags packed and we left right after the ceremony and he stayed with me until his flight left San Diego.  It will just depend upon where/when your son is headed as to how much time you'll have.  Hopefully, if he's flying out, he'll be able to stay with you and you can get him to airport.  If he's staying there, you should have plenty of time to visit.
