Laura, would love to attend your part, but our sailor actually comes home that day!!! I hope you all have a wonderful time and maybe I can catch the next one :)
OK ladies, its party time!
Who is up for an appetizer & dessert party at my house?
Saturday, June 1st
Time: not sure yet, afternoon-ish
I live in Lake Zurich. (Northern suburb of Chicago) Message me for my address & cell # if you would like to attend. This would be a great opportunity to relax, greet old friends and meet new ones.
Sandi8, Molly's Adopt A Sailor started with 12 moms right here on N4Ms. Now we are over 1100 moms all across the country. Go to "Groups" at the top of the page and check us out. We have a lot of fun in addition to sending love to our troops.
Hi Pat-That's great! Thank you! I guess they do it pretty often and are always looking for names. I have heard of Molly's Adopt A Sailor but I am not exactly sure what that is all about. I'm still pretty new to all of this!
Sandi8, I sent Barbara a message that I have addresses. I handle the adoption requests for Molly's Adopt A Sailor. Since Molly's has grown so much, we use the large groups for our monthly adoptions. The small groups that send requests are listed on our website. These small groups would be perfect for the VFW!! Will let you know what happens. Thanks for the information!!!! Pat
I saw in the NW Herald that the McHenry VFW Auxiliary is planning to pack care packages at the VFW Hall on April 29 from 4-8. They are looking for names and addresses of servicemen and women to send the care packages to (and donations, of course.) For every name, they send several packages that can be shared. I called and talked to the woman in charge and she gave me permission to give her e-mail address on this site if anyone has a name for her. Her name is Barbara and her e-mail is barbk9jingo@sbcglobal.net . They try to do this every 2 months and plan to host another one before July. I'm going to try to stop by after school that day, so let me know if anyone else in the area might go!
Laura-I would love to come and meet you! Sounds great! Maybe we should plan on INSIDE since it looks like it will still be 40 degrees in June. : (
Hey there fellow Chicago moms!
I was thinking of hosting an appetizer party at my house. I don't have a giant house or anything but I think that between the inside and the outside, (if we finally get warm weather) it could work!
I live in Lake Zurich and I was thinking of June 1st. What are the thoughts?
