Well Ladies, for the first time since my son left  for BC I can honestly say that I am glad that he is not here. Where we live is flooded (home is okay), 85% of the roads are closed including I-25, my youngest is in Longmont and made the fatal mistake after being told to stay home of trying to drive to Boulder yesterday morning, and it took him over 7 hours and 50 phone calls to me finding a route to get back to his apartment, along with 80% of my sanity worrying about him. I am a First Responder and work for a neighboring community, but my crew did an AMAZING job of keeping this area in as good a shape as possible, very little damage, YEAH! Now that I know my youngest is safe I think I want to choke him, trying to deal with that yesterday and keeping this community above the flood zone was about more than I could handle. SO glad today is a new day!!!!!!  Everybody stay safe and dry!!!

Wow all this flooding crazy. Hope none of you get damage. Glad I am on the other side of the state, but it could flood here as we have had tons of rain and ground so full. I live across the street from the uncoumpare river.

Have a good day!  Bring your lifejacket!

tiffw, hard to say. May want to bring your arm floaties! The rain is letting up here in Aurora, but they say it's going to pick up again later. I think I'll swim on over to the store!

We have a few schools closed because of flood damage in the south part of the Springs.  They haven't had Aurora on the news down here as much as Boulder/CU area and Manitou Springs-the Waldo Canyon fire last year has made a disaster of that place!  Funny about CU students and the slip and slide!  Leave it to college students to make the best of it and yes, hope they stay safe!  So-for info for me-would you expect that Aurora Sports Park will be closed this weekend due to flooding?  (soccer!)

Aurora is bad. The two major school districts, Cherry Creek and Aurora are closed for the day. Our CU son's room is on the ground floor. His side has no water yet, but the other half were moved to other rooms due to water. One dorm was evacuated as it's right by the river and two dorms evacuated the ground floor rooms due to water. The campus was closed yesterday and closed today. Students turned the main campus field into a giant slip and slide. Having fun but being safe. CU has done a great job keeping the students and parents informed!

Oh gosh Scooter!  What does your son say about Boulder?  And, has Aurora been hit hard too?

Comment by Scooter on September 13, 2013 at 10:18am

We're in Aurora and our youngest son is a student at CU in Boulder!

I'm in the NW corner. Lots of rain the last two days we've really needed it. But, I'm broken hearted for the people in the Metro area.

hi, I am also in the springs, village seven area.  On a hill so we are ok.  I was an operator for the telephone company when the Thompson Flood hit. This brings back so many sad memories.
