Have you joined his month for going to Boot Camp page.  That is always a great place to start.  As kids leave each week, moms get "the call" then "the Box" then "the letter" it gets exciting and it is very emotional.  Then you get moved to your kids ship and div group.  Sp join the Leaving in August group. If you are ever in Ouray I live there.

Nice to see a group of Colorado moms. My son leaves in August, so I'm trying to get a head start on information. Still learning and navigating this site. So far so good but if anyone finds a page that is really awesome I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

They will be fine. :) I love that we will be able to skype with them and go see them any time our mom hearts desire. And maybe get some beach time in at the same time. :)

TwinSalorsMom- We go camping in Ridgway all the time in the summer, I will have to stop in sometime :) Let me know when you are in GJ and we should meet up! I have nothing but free time right now.

5boys- I am also looking forward to a visit to SC :) I feel okay with him being there because my brother (also Navy) is stationed in Jacksonville, so he is only 4 1/2 hours away :)

Hi 5boys! I am in Grand Junction, so not close but my son will also be going into the Nuke program! He is set for a PIR date of 04/12/13! I am so excited to see him and get to hug my Sailor!

Hi all. I'm from the Ft. Collins area. My son is presently at boot camp. He's my first to leave the nest. It has been 1 week, and almost 5 days since he left. We are doing fine, now, as we know he will excel where he is! He will be ging to the Nuclear program.

Would love  to hear from someone close. Thanks!

Yep - thoroughly enjoying the snow in Denver.  We need more!  My kids are not very happy there is no snow day on Monday (me too - I want a snow day).     My sister lives in Burlington and those farmers desperately need snow ... Guess what, NO SNOW in Burlington - can you believe it - how did that happen?

My son is a Snipe on the USS Carl Vinson in San Diego.  Just spoke with him and he really likes what he's doing!

In Centennial.  Snowing like crazy.  We have about 4-5 inches so far.  Brrrrrr.  Our furry son doesn't even want to go out to do his "business".   Our son is in Pensacola having much warmer weather .  Stay warm, dry, and safe.
