Saleens - Now don't forget to look for the PIR 11302012 group here and get connected.  Take a look at the meet & greets on Thursday evening before your son's PIR - those are very helpful.  Since you probably won't rent a car, find a hotel that has a shuttle to PIR (not all of them do).  See if your son can get you in the Navy Lodge.  He has to reserve it for you.    I heard they are reasonably priced and it's a nice place - again from what others said.  It will be here before you know it.

I just want to thank everyone who came to the meet and greet yesterday in CR and for all of your information, support and understanding of this new Navy Mom's tears!  I look forward to getting to know each of you better as we are all in this together.  And thank you, Julie for coordinating everything for us!

Now for the good news... I finally got it!!!  The form letter arrived yesterday with Roman's PIR date, address and ship/div #'s.  His PIR is 11.30 and he's on ship 14- USS Arizona.  If anyone else has a son/daughter on the Arizona, let's hook up!  :D

Thanks to everyoe who was able to make it today.  Wish more could have, but we all know life can get in the way sometimes.  Perhaps at the next one - and don't wait for me to decide, any of us are welcome to plan :o)

Thanks Craig  for all the links. I feel we can never have too much information!

I shared most of the info with my son tonight.

Finally  - you can all relate to this, I just know I'm gonna cry off and on tomorrow and Monday when our son leaves for SD.  Probably the unknown of what lies ahead, we are so proud of him and ... we know we won't see him for a long time and will miss him.

Take care eveyrone and thanks for today!

Hey all,

It was good having lunch with you guys.  I didn't realize how crowded it was until we walked out and there was like 25 people waiting.  The reason? because the food was great and affordable.

I wanted to post a couple link for those that ask:

To know what happens day-per-day (within a day or so) at boot camp go here:

Day-per-day schedule at boot camp

My website is:

http://www.NavyDEP.com

I have a lot of info posted there.  It is mainly for the Deppers, but a lot of parents, wives, and GF go there because the rules are,  "We don't sugarcoat".  I have many active duty come back and guide the new deppers and help them with their concerns.

Lastly,

To see what the ship (barracks) look like at boot camp,

To know what a "snipe" is

To take fun practice test yourself

To know what Battle Stations is

Hi all!  I had a great time at the lunch in Castle Rock today.  It's nice to meet others who are "in the same boat (or sub)" as I am. Yes, that pun was intended.  Sorry I didn't get to chat with everyone on the far end of the table.  I know I need to mingle more next time.  Looking forward to our next get together already!

It was fun to put faces to the N4M handles!  And worth the awesome drive home through Denver in the pouring rain, too!  Chris, I am trying to find your e-mail address to send you the list we talked about...  If you see this message send me a PM on Fb, please.  I don't know how to send that big a list on Fb.  I am going to try your Fb page next.

I was going to try to make it but the week has been crazy. My mom fell and broke her hip last Sunday so that has changed plans for awhile. She's doing great but she was my dad's caregiver so we have that to contend with. Glad I have a great husband and siblings in town. Hope you all have a great visit. Would still like to plan something a little more south for those around these parts. We did get to the Navy/AirForce game last Saturday. Go Navy!
