Hey all,

It was good meeting with you guys at the packing party in Arvada.

As we were packing and talking, I talked to some of you about items that will make your future sailors life easier in boot camp.  However, I lost the paper that had your emails addresses on it.  Thus, this post....

Please have your sailors look at these items.  The post of the day-per-day happenings was actually written by a Nuke that was on my website and wanted to "pay forward".

Chris - Jeff and I are sending a check for $200 today for toothpaste for the USS Makin Island packing party. With any luck you will get the check either tomorrow or Saturday. We won't be there but we hope this helps. Hugs to all!

Oh ColoradoConnie, Canon City area is very pretty.  Of course, there isn't too many places in Colorado that aren't beautiful in some way ;)

Happy 2012 o all the Colorado Momma's! Sorry I have not checked in for so long...It has been a long bumpy road since PIR last March both for our Sailor and his Mom. He has been in P'cola at A school. Last summer during one of the Black Flag heat warnings he got dehydrated and had a siezure!  He was told then it was heat stroke. Now they are saying it is medical. 3 weeks from graduation from ATI they dropped him to Undesignated Airman. Now he and his Dr are trying to keep him in the Navy. He is on a med hold for about 6 months... Could use some good thoughts and prayers! He is undetered and wants to get orders so he can get out on a ship. He is ready to work and show them he is ready for anything. His attitude is great! I had a bad bout with a nasty strain of Staph infection that almost got me...but am doing better every day and feeling more like my old self!
We had a wonderful Christmas with B home on leave, he also got married Dec. 20th!
Sandy's Sailor son- You said you are near Colo. Springs...We live in Penrose near Canon City. It would be neat to get to know some Moms in Southern Colorado!!

It has been wonderful having my son home. 16 days in all. He will fly out of DIA on Monday. I too already miss him. He will finish his last class in SD and on to Japan for three years...

Hello everyone. Our son was home on leave for Christmas Stand Down. We had a wonderful time with him. We live in near Colorado Springs. I am glad he flew out of Colorado Springs airport this time. He flew with Delta Airlines this morning and they changed his ticket to First Class. He is now back in Dam Neck. I miss him already.
