Thanks Chris.... Every little bit helps...
We have to win... It's in a sailors blood to win a competition. Just like at boot camp when they had the Captain's Cup. That thrill of winning is what keeps a sailor going. Even on the ships, we had things like the Damage Control Olympics. That's where your ship competes against another ship to see who's sailors are better. Man, it was soooo much fun!....
Thanks again for voting.
Thanks, a lot of people just don't understand that we have alot of sailors here in Denver.
This is a good way of promoting the Navy. Hopefully we will win. It's actually a real close contest, but being a sailor, we can't lose! We are not second best! EVER!....
Craig - Done! And I really do love that Dracula pumpkin. Our ortho got a copule of new cars out of my kids teeth! :-)
All,
You guys know how I am, I don't ask for nothing. Well today I am...
The Naval dental office in Denver is in competition with local civilian dental offices for a holloween pumpkin contest. Advance Orthodontics is the sponsor of the contest. The deadline is Oct 14th. Winning gives the Navy alot of publicity and positive exposure. So, being a Navy guy, we have to win!
I would like you guys to vote for our pumpkin (Dracula with braces), and help us win!
It's easy, just go to facebook and press "Like".....
Go Navy!

Thanks for all of the information! So his contract does say E1, but he apparently won't be assinged to STS, FT, ET until some evaluation happens and the Navy decides exactly which area to put him in. First will be BESS, ATT(?) and TCNO. He will start BESS 10/24 - he is pretty excited, but ready to go now rather have to wait. Working on qual packet, whatever that might be.
He was somewhat upset when he found out, and now he's just rolling with it - says not too worry, he's going to go whoop up on everything and advance as fast as possible! :-) I hope he can do just exactly that, but I'm so proud of him I could bust, regardless.
Kathy, my son is in the Advanced Electronic Field. He is an FC. Almost the same rating as an FT but on a ship. He graduated from boot camp an E1. He graduated from (A)school as E3. He will be an E4 before he graduates from (C)school.
Kathy - You really need to look at his contract. I truly think he's already a E2 now. Since SECF is truly either a ST, FT, or ET, then I think he would be in the Advance Electronic Field (AEF). However, I'm not 100% positive.
Let's just say he's a E2 know, then the referral means nothing anyways. Just like my son, he knew he would be an E3, so he really didn't care that much about doing well on the written test in boot camp. He would have gained nothing.
Bottomline, look at his contract.
If the recruit put down Navy.com, then he will not get the benefit. There is nothing he can do. It's a real pain to get the referral promotion.
What rating (job) will be be doing? There is automatic rate advancement on certain ratings, and I will check to see if he falls into any of those. Worst case, he will be an E2 in 7 months.
