Are there any other Colorado moms going to PIR this weekend?

Craig - maybe you will see this question and possibly give me some advice. My so. Just finished boot camp (PIR was fab!) And is a bit disapointed in the fact that he is still an E1. He had a recruit that is going in as Nuke that my son referred to the DEP program. His recruiter had him down for the referral and everything. However, apparently the new recruit pit down my sons name and navy.com as who referred him. The Navy some how declared this as a conflint and denied my son the referral. Is there anything we can do at this point?

Well, my son just did his big test & the OC course. He got a 97.8% on the test, & finished the course in 2 minutes! He's in the top 10% of his class!! I am SO proud of him! His buddy was taking pics during the entire course, and Michael put them up on FaceBook.... Absolutely hilarious looking! Don't get me wrong, when I saw the first pic of his poor face, my heart just cringed... But then after that, the silly boy was *laughing* (& crying)
But I can say that we're both glad it's done & over....!! 

Craig- great resources below- Even though my son is past boot camp, it was neat just to read it all anyway and I learned even more of what he went through. My son is putting in time with the recruiters while home doing RAP.  He pretty much is impressing them! What a change from the kid he was before he went to boot camp to the Man he has become! Pretty Awesome!

Nick's - I run NavyDEP.com.   I have 117  (meaning they have logged in within the past 30 days) active deppers just like you.  These deppers share their joys and their sorrows about leaving.  They ping off and motivate each other.  They are all really hyped to go.  Always remember every website has a purpose.  N4M is a outstanding source for family member learning about the Navy.  You on the other hand, really needs to get pumped up about boot camp and what is about to happen to you.

To get you pumped up on the Navy, I suggest you read these three items written by 3 Navy gals.

Dear Future Shipmate - (This is a great letter)

What to bring to Boot Camp and what NOT- Females Stuff Only

What happens at bootcamp - Day-per-Day? (Up to week #6)

btw: If you happen to be at the packing party at the Arvada recruit station last Saturady, then my wife or I probably have talked to you.

Nick's Cupcake - good luck in BootCamp & your deployment! I think the best luck you will have in finding CO female Sailors is to go through your recruiting station. That's where my son met a few of his Navy friends.

Good luck, and God Bless!
