Dear Arvada Moms and Dads,

Recruiters and Future Sailors,

Sea Cadets and more,

Thank you, thank you for welcoming the Molly Moms from across the states to your packing party last Saturday!  It was the highlight of our trip to be able to meet and hug so many of you!  What an honor to write notes and cards and pack boxes alongside so many of you!

I am sure some of you spotted the Dophin Solana that was in many pictures on Saturday.  This months Molly's adoption the USS Higgins has an elementary school that they correspond with.  The schools mascot is Solana the dolphin and they have her aboard the ship.  She takes pictures of her adventures aboard the ship and sends back pictures to the kids.  Since she 'jumped ship and headed to Denver' she has missed muster the last couple of days.  So I sent a picture of her from the packing party to let the ship know she is well and headed back.

Imagine my surprise when the Ombudsman from the ship contacted me this morning to let me know that her husband was recruited in the Arvada recruiting office...  So those boxes packed Saturday will definitely be a piece of home for him!

18 pillowcases in the suitcase.  Thanks for the help from a woman's group in our nearby town.  Thank goodness South West has free luggage check in! I've packed everything but clothes so far.

Wet wipes and snacks, roger!  I will send a check today for 4 people...$44. dollars for lunch.  My son has a question about which uniform he should wear for the day?  I think he has a few choices stored here at my house.  He has been stationed in Hawaii for several years, so I guess he is worried about proper attire here on the mainland, especially since it is Navy Week here in Denver area.
