I read the book " One second after" about a year ago. It seemed eerily possible.

Deborah, I heard that, too! We are being maligned, and set-up. Isn't this an incredibly sad situation to see how dirty politics has gotten, and how far we all have fallen from the realm of meaningful discussion, hearty and wise debates, and mutual respect of differences? I am so sickened by the name calling and devious tactics, and I am also sickened by the elected officials who do not have honour, integrity, and honesty. I hope our Tea Party Rally (combo of Watauga and Ashe counties) will be smooth!

Glad you're safely back, Deborah. Glad the tea party was fun in Tulsa, Mama Nonie. I think there will be record voter turnout in the mid-terms.

That Campbell-Ewald thing is just plain weird. MamaNonie, glad the
express was great. Tell us more when you have time.

There seems to be a number of inaccuracies being reported the past few days regarding the administration of this site. Please take a moment to read the following:

OPSEC issues: As site moderators we do not share members personal information. There have been times when members have used their full names – we have encouraged members to modify their links and remove their full names. We will not share members private information.

Persons of Interest: No members are deemed to be any more or any less interesting than others. We do not and will not profile our members.

RSS feeds: Yes, we use them. All over the Internet. The USN has asked our team to know what kind of conversations are being held on the Internet about them. We report sentiment to clients on a regular basis regarding recruiting efforts, press comments, John Q Public opinion, branding issues, etc. We do have feeds for key words, including Navy For Moms, but also for words like Navy medicine, Nuclear Engineering, etc. Our feeds are not looking for OPSEC information, on the contrary, it is to answer the key question of ‘what does the public really think about the Navy’ that is important to our clients.

Thanx for the cartoons. If I didn't know God was still on his throne, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night, for fear what the dark side are plotting. The portrayal of conservatives/christians as gun/bible toting neanderthals by the media as a ploy to take the country's eyes off the balderdash coming from the highest office in the nation should be giving us all pause. But I do sleep at night. MamaNonie, I envy you your Tea Party express! Inspire us when you get back!

I LOVE the peep pics! Can't watch youtube at 26K, though.
Thanks for the encoragement, ladies. Yes, it's his first deployment. He's a lot happier now than when he was living on ship in port, but I am a mom. Miss him and worry a little and pray a lot.
Why on earth is an ad agency being used as a peep agency? Cause they're so good at pestering people? And buying personal information?
Still nothing on the missing sailor on the Ike. I'm sad.
And I started my day in blue PJ pants, Katy. Have to see what I've got for the day. Lots of families have so much on their plate, and today our hearts go out to the families with a member suffering with autism.

Katynorth, I wasn't condoning snooping. Guess I was being too cynical. I agree with you. There is a section of society who believe they are the only right ones and therefore are the only ones entitled to an opinion. They want to spy, lie, cheat, hurt their way into more and more power. Hitler said don't bother with little lies, tell big ones and tell them often. They become truth. If the media can put an anti-christian spin on everything, they can mold public opinion against true Christians. They play up this group and call them 'christian militia' (better watch out for those christians), and make sure to cover the hateful 'christians' protesting at the vet funerals. A lot of the folk inhabiting our ivory towers don't have a clue what it means to be a Christian. And a lot more folk don't have a clue what it means to use their grey matter to reason! Am I making any sense? I'm pretty tired.
Hugs to you, Hobbit's Mom. We had our sailor here for a week just a few weeks ago, before he went on deployment. Miss him awfully.

Well, pardon us for encouraging people to get on here and find support! I do it all the time on FB. They can track me all they want. I"m not going to run my mouth and be a security threat. I won't even tell my husb. where our son is till he's off to the next spot, because he talks too freely with people. Hope you're tracking this, whoever you are!
