OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Corpsman from the clinic got to tour the USS Reagan while it was in port, mine is the one on the far left. He was duly impressed!!

Oh and he lost most of his hearing in one ear while at SERE and messed up his knee.

TexasDocMom...my son ended up going to EOD school after realizing SERE (Special Forces) school wasn't for him but he had already gone through Jump school.

LeeLee! that is a great thought! My SIL was an Army Ranger, now on some disablity for back problems from jumping out of planes in Desert Storm. Also why he's worthless when it comes to moving furniture and putting away Christmas stuff...(his words!).
I know they had the official opening for METC, or possibly just the Navy part? yesterday because my son was not impressed with standing at parade rest for an hour in his whites in the heat when he'd rather be at work. And of course their seems to be no photos!! I'll have to get more info on exactly what it was...

1windhaven, jump school isn't a mandatory school it is something they can request to do. So if someone is afraid of heights they probably shouldn't request to go. It is a three week school and about a third don't make it through. They start off jump from like little platforms to practice how to land...then they go to higher and higher platforms where they are hooked up to wires. They learn to jump on green it becomes automatic. My son who made it through jump school is scared of heights. He said you don't think about it. After he was all done he never wanted to jump out of a plane again. His thinking is why would someone jump out of a perfectly good plane.

Hi my son arrived this past Monday. Just so you know we heard from him the day they arrived and then nothing for 3-4 days. Looks like they keep them busy processing them in. He says it is much better than BC. It is 2 to a room have a refrigerator and micro.

TDM has posted this above: "Barring further delays, on April 17, Hospital Corps School will convene its last HM "A" School Class in Great Lakes and will graduate sometime in July. After April 17, all Sailors Going to HM "A" will go to San Antonio, Texas." There is also the link to Medical Education & Training Campus (METC) above. On that site, there is a "live help" chat box and a phone number too for further info.
