While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

TDM, it has been a while! Liberty and leave aren't the same. Liberty is regular time off; leave is what accrues monthly, you have to request to use, etc.

Bonita, "liberty" and "leave" are the same thing. She'll be using up some of her leave days, it sounds to me, from Oct 29 until Nov 4 . Do you live near Great Lakes? You might check the links above for the "A" school group, someone might have better information than I do, it's been a while since my son's graduation.

I was not home when my granddaughter called about 1 hour ago. She left a message. she is doing well and anxiously awaiting Oct29 graduation day. I was abit confused by her message. She said "A"school for corpsman starts NOV 5 so she will most likely have liberty from graduation until then. She asked me to bring some civilian clothes,cell phone,mp-3 player and underware. Does this sound right?She asked if we were going to stay in our hometown or go to our Minnisota home.I was under the impression she would have to sleep on base after graduation until she got leave. Any information would help. I am soooo confused. I feel so bad i missed her call. I MISS HER SO MUCH IT HURTS!!!

TDM, what a beautiful song. I'm not familiar with Helene Cronin, but just located her on iTunes and purchased/downloaded the song.
How fortunate you are, for your son to meet such a great girl!
By the way, there are long waiting lists at PA schools, so preparation and application way in advance are key.
