Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Carol - also forgot to mention the ball cap - if the man has to go somewhere and not be allowed to wear his ball cap people don't even recognize him! We were showing some friends photos of my son's wedding and they asked "where's Frank, taking the pictures?" he was standing next to me! Through them way off, in a suit with shoes, teeth and no ball cap! LOL

Carol - I tell people that I am married to the only New York, Italian Redneck on the planet! Seriously, he is quite the mix! Has that whole attiditude thing going on but I'll be damned if I can get him to wear shoes, or for that matter his teeth without a fight! LOL

Hey - where's Tex? You get any rain yet out there? We have been getting our share plus someone else's! 2.5" in less than an hour last night, not to mention thunder and lightning that shook the house! Jakes Mom - my son is in VA at surgical tech school, his A-school grad was in May. He'll be graduating the C-school on Nov 19th, not sure where he'll go after that yet. Listen, when one of those Marines is sick or injured he'll learn to appreciate a Corpsman. From what I hear, most of them adore their Corpsmen, just takes a little time for them to prove themselves to those jarheads is all!
Ok - now I'm going to have to pray for a grand-daughter after this next baby so I can order some tutus! Too darned cute! :0)

LOL - really! we're getting our 2nd grand-baby in late December, decided I would crochet a baby blanket for him, got the nice soft yarn, started it this weekend, my husband said, "I'm sure he'll be in college by the time you finish that". Hey, I try! LOL

Jakes Mom - my son is in a C-school but when he first got there he had FMTB regret, I guess a few of his buddies went that way and he was feeling like he should have done that as well. From what I gathered, they were shown some videos that were really, really intense and got them all worked up and ready to go FMTB! Of course he also had regrets of not choosing Italy when he saw the pics of his buddies that went there all tanned and smiling! The only thing that made him go with the schooling offered was his recruiter told him no matter what the school, if you are offered C-school TAKE IT! He actually loves the school and is happy he took that route to start and knows he will eventually go to FMTB and abroad, I guess it's just a case of the grass being greener or in this case the uniform! :0)
