While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Sue - enjoy your time with your son!!! I'm up in Hunstville, AL now with all the kids, I'm in Mom Heaven! The weather is not so hot, we were out to dinner last night and my Hub stepped out to have a smoke and came back in and said, "geez, it's pouring out there and there's some siren blaring" Steven and his future bride then informed us that was the tornado warning siren! OMG - at least in FL with the hurricanes we get a bit of a warning! This should definately be an interesting week! :0) Hope you all have a great week, I'll try to check in again soon!

Terri - sounds like you need a hot bubble bath and some well deserved pampering right about now! I know you are feeling like things are looking bleak but they will get better! I can tell you that in 2008 I felt like my life was never going to be the same, but now all has settled and I'm feeling much more in control of the things I can be in control of and have accepted that some are better not controlled! I will keep you in my prayers that this too is the case for you!

Sue - seeing as this school is a 6 months school I'm thinking I may have to plan a long weekend up there this summer! Will wait to see what kind of schedule the boys are going to have, I'm sure it's going to be tough, there's an awful lot to fit into 6 months and I'm certain they will be pulling shifts at the hospital as well.

Sue - I think they all start the same day for the Surgical Tech School, I heard that they have briefing classes on the 11th and 12th. Devin is totally psyched to go to this school, if it hadn't been for the wedding he'd be up there already working at the hospital. I surely hope his brother appreciates him taking this leave for him (my older son is a good boy but he kind of lives in his own little kingdom if you know what I mean).

Terri - can't wait to see the pics of graduation! Devin told me he met you, he said it was a pretty cool ceremony and that one of the guys actually proposed to his girlfriend right after it. He brought me home a program and I was thrilled to see him listed as a honor grad! :0)

Hey Sue - Devin is working at the recruiter's office this week and he's having a blast. He really liked the guys that were in that office and I think he's enjoying telling the DEPers what to expect. Kind of a big man on campus, you know? Enjoy your time together!!! Devin has to be on base by 2200 on Saturday for Surgical Tech C-school, that's when his liberty runs out. I will be traveling home on Mothers Day, guess I better get all my lovin' early! :0)

May 8th is the wedding - he doesn't have any patches on his whites and although I have sewn on 1000's of scout patches he is going to have them sewn on on base. (whatever! LOL) Never mind that I think the reason is he doesn't want to be the only one in white with the bride! Silly boy! I'm particularly fond of the whites myself!

Jakes Mom - tell him to seek help in studying, don't wait for them to offer. They have mandatory and non-mandatory study groups, If he is struggling the best thing to do is ask for more help. My son said his class wound up losing quite a few people who were either to proud to ask for help or just didn't study enough. Good luck to your boy!
