While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

He said it was offered and he signed up for it - will know in about a week that he's actually got it! The class starts at the end of May. He's bummed about the wedding but I promised to get a web cam set up so he can be a part of it albeit from afar!
I'm hoping for much better weather this time around in GL! LOL

I believe it is a Lab Tech school that he was talking about, says he will be in school for a year and that it's in San Diego but through George Washington University (?) I was not having good signal on my phone when we talked so some of it was a little garbled.
I think Dev got antibiotics because he was also running a fever, I know that he was told to go back to his barracks and take his meds and sleep for the rest of the day.
I know, feels like one down, one to go! :0)
The real bummer is that Devin won't be making it to his brother's wedding after all. He got that information yesterday as well, he's heartbroken because he feels he's letting him down (was to be his best man) but Steven is so excited for him he understands.
Of course this also dictates that I will definately be going to GL for A school graduation! :0)

And I don't want to jinx it, but my son was offered a "C" school in San Diego yesterday! His class was originally told there would be 2 "C" seats available but I guess a few more came available and the honor students were given the chance to put in for them! Won't know for sure for a week or so but that would be so cool if he got it! :0)

My son also got the "crud" and was put on mucinex and some antibiotics back I believe in January. I now have the crud that started out as allergies to oak pollen and now a full blown upper respiratory infection. Was too cute to have my son tell me how to hold my breath for so many seconds and then blow it out slowly through pursed lips and that this would help break up the mucus and allow me to cough it out! I guess he's paying attention in class! :0)

Wow - so much good news to catch up on! Congrats to all graduates! A job well done! And how wonderful for Darsete to have your son back safe and sound, brings tears to my eyes and happiness to my heart! My son finished up the classroom part of school on Friday and will start the lab part on Monday! I don't know if time is flying by for him but it sure it for me, starting to get excited about going to another graduation! :0)

Hey Terri! My son is in the same class then, he's graduating on April 24th as well and was to have picked yesterday but called to say they now have to wait until the 10th! I'm hoping to attend the graduation, was just looking up flights today. They've actually changed the date 3 times now so I was hesitant to get a flight until I knew for sure. Today was test 11, test 12 is Friday! :0)

Karen, Amber is a lot tougher than she was the day she left for BC...and will be tougher yet when she finishes field training. I'm always amazed that the long lanky kid I raised can carry 250 lbs slung over his shoulder at a full run for miles...but boy, his thighs show the strength now!

Karen, my son said that coming out of BC you don't "have much stuff" and the school is right across the street. It'll be the easiest move she'll make, according to my son.
