For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I suspect he has an idea but he's being a little candid about it with me right now! He's been able to maintain an A average in his class so I'm hoping he'll get what ever he wishes for! I guess I will just have to wait to see! Are you sleeping at all this week Karen with your excitement growing? PIR in 4 days!

Hey Sue - I hear from Devin that Jeremy's class got to pick orders today, I hear you might want to have your passport ready for a trip to Italy! Devin says his class is slated to make their picks on Thursday he thinks. I was looking at pics on Devin's myspace from this weekend, think there's one of your Jeremy with him in Chicago, will see if I can download it and share it with you!

I've posted a disussion on this group, about the Mom's with Kids in Iraq or Afghanistan. The link is there. That way, every time a new mom joins us we can have a simple way to direct her to that particular group of military moms.

I can't think of any reason for him not to get his mail unless the address is off or if maybe their unit has been in trouble? I sent mail about 3 times a week and my son said he got it within 4 or 5 days of the postmark. Now I have to remind him to check his mail when I send him anything! The recruiter's office won't mind that you ask them, it took all of 3 minutes for ours to get the address for me and that was only 2 days after my son left!

Irene - is your son in basic or A-school? I know at A-school they have to go get their mail, at basic it gets handed out. Have you verified you have the correct address? His recruiter can look it up for you in the computer.

My son has heard that if those in his A school class that will go to FMTB training will most likely be on hold until July, their A school graduation was originally thought to be on April 24th but he's also heard that may be a little off as there were a few holidays where they had no school, doesn't seem to have phased him though, thank goodness! :0)

That is so awsome, lots of hugs and welcome homes I'm sure! I sent the picture of me and the two sailors I met at Gasparilla to my son and he lol and said "OMG, you're gonna hug any sailor you find aren't you?" I said count on it! They're somebodies baby boys! :0)
