OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Everyone,
I'm a newbie mom.
My son has soft orders for the Jax base out in Florida. Anyone have any Sailors out there? And how is it? He graduates in March. When will they find out how much time they will get before having to report to their duty station?

My son was there for two years, enjoyed it. He and his friends really took advantage of the opportunity to travel not only within Italy, but to a number of other countries, too.

I brought my son's laptop computer to Chicago. He played with it while we had him during visits then we gave it to him at the airport along with his cell phone. Keep in mind that if you are thinking about a new laptop he might be able to purchase it cheaper on base. Not sure but might be something to check. As far a clothes I had him give me a list and I sent him what he wanted once he was settled into his room. Funny, I had forgotten about the underwear. We did buy him a couple of packages of his favorite. Attygirl123 is right about them only being in uniforms for a while before they are allowed civilian clothes. My son was in A school during the holidays so when he came home on leave he drove back so he had his car. A lot of the stuff they want they buy from others who are leaving soon like TV's and gaming systems.

They don't have a lot of room. I would definitely wait until your HM gets there and gets settled in and then send whatever he/she wants or needs.

They can take their electronics from you at the airport in CHI. They will have to phase up before they can wear civilian clothes, but that shouldn't take long. We have been told not to bring too much to CHI because they have so much to carry already with all of their uniforms in their seabag. (Except their own underwear! They all seem to HATE the RTC-issued underwear. LOL)

Greetings all. New to this group and have a few questions. Our HM Sailor will be assigned as a HM 0000 at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Are 0000's assigned to more areas other than the main hospital? Also what are the living/housing areas like for single E-2 & E-3's? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

My son will be starting A school on Monday, July 31. So proud of him and the places he will go. Looking forward to the next chapter of his journey.
