Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My1stgirl, when my son was at A school he arrived around midnight on Saturday and didn't get his room assignment for a couple hours. They were up early on Sunday and had many things to take care of. We were there, as I promised to be there the day he arrived and we weren't at PIR (it's 4 hours away for us). We saw him for about 5 minutes mid afternoon to give him his phone, computer and a few other items. He didn't get down time until late afternoon on Sunday. I'm sure
Not everyone was like this, but I know they have a lot to take care of the first weekend. We went back the second weekend and he did. Not have watch and was allowed to spend a lot of time with us as long as he met the curfews.

Hi there, my daughter will be on PIR 07/14. She will then head off to her a school Texas. We are planning to follow her in Texas and hopefully get to spend her first weekend with us. Would that be possible or liberty won't be available on first weekends.

Welcome. Hopefully you have been able to find a group with your PIR date. I have such great memories of meeting other parents at PIR through our communications on this site. You will just love the graduation and hope you are able to attend.

Hi! My daughter is currently at boot with a PIR date of 8/4 and then off to TX for A school as a HM. I love this site so far and was recommended to join this group! Any tips/insight welcome! I'm an all around new Navy mom :)

Welcome, SusanB! I've heard that Guam is a really cool assignment.
My son is currently deployed but stationed in Virginia. He's been in almost 14 years and I know he'd like a more exciting assignment for his next Duty station!

Mom of a newly ranked HM3 :) He is loving life as a corpsman in Guam! He graduated A school in Oct. and is rockin' and rolling! Made some serious life decisions recently and I can't be prouder of him!

Tamme has it right. When my son was there nearly 2 years ago, he was .25 points out of the top 10, he did not spend all his time studying, as he put it, I want a life too mom. He was the main study group leader however, and helped 75% of his class pass and graduate. He was granted his 2nd choice in assignments-an overseas duty station with a 2 year assignment. Was actually glad he got this one over his 1st choice. The key is be sure and study, study, study. The work is hard, but very rewarding in the end. Good luck to your future Corpsman.

HMMomNC, tell your son to take full advantage of the study groups in order to assist with any help he may need. Also, the higher he ranks in his class, the better choice of his first base assignment. At least that use to be the case - best wishes towards finishing A school.
