I Love Split Pea Soup!

(From: Whole Foods Market) 1 pound dried green split peas, rinsed. 1 meaty ham bone, 2 ham hocks or 2 cups diced ham. 1 cup sliced baby carrots. 1 cup chopped yellow onion, 2 stalks chopped celery plus leaves.
2 cloves minced garlic. 1 bay leaf. 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley. Salt & pepper to taste. 6 cups chicken broth.
Layer ingredients in slow cooker in the order given, adding the broth last. Do not stir ingredients. Cover & cook on high 4 to 5 hours or 8 to 10 hours on low until peas are very soft and ham falls off the bone. Yummy❤

Crockpot Candy

1 cup chopped hazelnuts (or any nuts you prefer). 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips. 2½ pounds white almond bark, white candy melting disks or white chocolate chips. *optional ¾ cup Nutella. *optional 1 cup toffee bits

In a 4 quart crock pot, layer nuts, semi-sweet chocolate and almond bark or candy melts. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. Then, stir all the ingredients together and swirl in Nutella, if desired. Line 2 mini muffin pans with liners and drop by heaping tablespoon into liners. Sprinkle with toffee bits. Vary the add-ins if you'd like-Try swirling peanut butter instead of Nutella, or adding rice krispie cereal into the melted chocolate for crunch! They set-up quickly. (from:cookiesandcups.com)

I made PLUM Butter in the crockpot! (tastes like jam) by Christina Lakey. INGREDIENTS: 3½ to 4 pounds plums, washed, sliced in half, and pitted (leave skins on) ½ to 1 cup water, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp. ground cinnamon. ½ tsp. ground cardamom. DIRECTIONS Place plums in crockpot with water. Simmer on low heat for about 1 to 2 hours, stirring about every 30 minutes to encourage plums to break up. Once plums have broken up well, give mixture one last good stir to make sure it's evenly distributed. Cook overnight (about 8 to 10 hours) on low heat (no need to stir during this time). Stir mixture again. Add brown sugar & spices. Pour mixture into blender (or use an immersion blender) and puree til smooth. If desired, add a little more water to thin it to desired consistency, and blend well. Pour into quart-sized jars & enjoy over bread, meat, dumplings.....you name it! NOTES: Dress it Down: To keep it simple, leave out the spices to enjoy pure plum bliss!
