Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Hi, Nana! Yes there are a few of us who keep checking this website. It is much less drama than the Facebook page "Navy for Moms". But most of the women eventually go there since there are 3-4ooo members on the closed page. You have to ask and wait for permission to join.
How long have you been a Navy Nana? Is D in the fleet, training or still DEP? If I can help with any questions, I will.
My son is almost 2 years in, has already finished a 9 month deployment, is stationed in San Diego and works on an aircraft carrier.

D left for boot camp 12/07/2015. I'm just waiting to get the I'm a 'Sailor' call now! My question now is... Is it to soon to print the gate pass, and what's the process? PIR 02/05/2016

D's Nana - You won't get the the Sailor call until 3-5 days before PIR. It's just that close. You can print the gate pass about 1 week or 2 before PIR date, the website will tell you which PIR can print out the pass. Don't lose it! Once you get to Recruit Training Base (it is well marked in Great Lakes), your pass AND IDs will get you on the base. You park and walk to the "hanger"/auditorium and sit and wait. The division # are clearly marked so you can sit facing D's group. It is an amazing experience. Pictures and videos are great but I found that I'd rather just sit and watch than try to get photos, especially when marching in. Plan on attending Sarges get together on Thurs. evening if possible. A very informal way to meet other families AND Sarge answers EVERYTHING you need to know for Friday!

Sarge's page on this site has all the info, RSVP, AND directions (or use some map program). No, it's not downtown, it's in a LARGE separate site near a bunch of hotels. It was easy to find. And, of course, if you NEED a taxi anywhere around Great Lakes, you use Sarge! He's a phenomenon among Navy families. I am so glad we didn't miss it, my elder son (a US Marine vet) LOVED it. It was a great way to relax and prepare for PIR.

Welcome D'Nana to Navy life! After PIR there maybe some waiting time before your sailor goes to A school. therevbev will walk through it. I was not able to attend the graduation there at Ft. Lee. Also, It was at Ft. Lee where he learnt where he would be stationed. My son is Yokosuka, Japan on a Flag ship. When he not on the ship he is cooking on base.
