yes we are all excited to see Nick, his ship is in australia right now and when he leaves in august hopefully it will be back in sasebo japan so he can get started on his next adventure. I know he will want to spend time with his friends as he will be gone for so long and that is fine with us. we will just take it one day at a time and enjoy him.

Hi everyone....Nicksmum, you must be so excited to see your son!!  Mine is coming home next week, at least as of now.  He has his last big test today.  He is top in his class right now and if he scores 95% or higher today, it will be final and official.  He said if he did recruiting duty, he could have an extra five days at home but I don't know what is happening with that.  He could use the days since he will be getting married while he is home.  Wedding date, July 30th.  We have adjusted to him being stationed in Virginia.  It will sure be easier to visit him.  His ship is the USS Stout.  That ship has had some interesting turn of events in the last few months.  Commander relieved of duty, etc.  My son said it should be interesting because the new Commander will be running that ship with an iron fist!!   Judyann...your son is in Bremerton right?  I can't even imagine not seeing Jase for two years!!!!!!    I hope the rest of you and your sailors are well!!!

Angela - I'm sure you are looking forward to Nick's visit home. Enjoy!  Looks like he will be headed for Sasebo where my daughter is also stationed.

A year ago my son Thomas and I were visiting Katie in Sasebo and went on the Gator Cruise with her ship.  It seems so long ago........

good morning DC moms, just wanted to check in and say Hi!, my son nick is still in great lakes, his pir was 5\6, he finished BECC 7\8 and now he is just waiting to start his strand class on wed. 7\13. I am not sure when he will be home as the date keeps changing. but i do kow he leaves for japan on august 16th to join the uss germantown. He thinks he will get 17 days at home (san diego) before he has to leave. I can't wait to see him and I know it will be hard to say goodbye to him when he leaves for Japan, but i am so excited for him too. I hope you all have a great week, love angela

Julie- My son is also a DC on a destroyer, based in San Diego. He's been in a holding barracks but just left to join the ship. He really liked San Diego! I'm hoping to get out there to visit after my son returns.

Hi DWG...Just got in from Washington last night.  Was up there for two weeks visiting my mom.  We were in Bremerton on Friday to catch the ferry to Seattle.  I was so bummed when my son got Norfolk instead of Bremerton which was one of his requests. It is only 30 minutes from my mom.  It is gorgeous up there.  Even with all the rain I still love, love, love it up there

Hi DC Moms. Just wanted to share with the moms in bremerton or others who have not been assigned to ships how happy I was that my Son is in Washington. What a beautiful area. It is personally my kind of area. Jealous that he lives there now. Big Navy Hugs to all MOMS!

My Sailor is still in A school, but he called yesterday to say that he'll be going to Mayport after graduation!  So pleased!  We live in Alabama, so when he isn't at sea, we can get down there!
