Im with you ladies Corinne and Lesa on this website just recently in another group some ladies got on an argument over one Mom saying just that her son would not be home for xmas because ship was leaving she didnt mention date or name of ship and some other Moms got on her case.I feel the same they tell us to keep QUIET but THE NEWS THE INTERNET AND THE SHIPS ON FACEBOOK  TELL EVERYTHING TO TIME AND DATE-I Dont Get it either

Several of the ships have facebook pages and post it when they leave!  My son's ship deployed earlier this week, and they posted it loud and proud!  I don't understand it myself.

Hi, I'm Lisa from Rome, GA.  My son is aboard the USS John Paul Jones DDG 53.  I'm looking forward to talking to other Navy moms.  :)

I have a question - something that has been bothering me for a few days.  We try so hard on this website (and in our personal lives) not tell anyone when a ship is leaving or when it will arrive somewhere, etc. "Loose lips sink ships".  I didn't even tell a co-worker, a retired Navy Seal what day my son's ship was supposed to deploy (I actually thought it was going to be a different day).  So why does the local news out there, tell on their website the day before, which ships are leaving and then again on that day, they even say which one(s) left on time and which one(s) were late?  It makes me awful nervous.  Are we supposed to get used to this - the local news tells all?  Just wondering if anyone else notices this.  Thanks!

Our son came home for a 10 day leave early this month - it was great to see him again.  We had Thanksgiving early.  He will go on his first deployment soon.  That will be a new and different experience for all of us.  Happy Holidays Everyone!

Hi txsailorsam its been awhile how are things, im in same boat wont be seeing my son im unable to go to Norfolk and Ill be missing him Big Time for Thanksgiving and his Bday right after :(  so Im a bit upset about it especially he hurt his back on the ship and he is not feeling well my heart breaks for him so im a bit down especially as the days are getting closer.On a good note some of Us NavyMoms from Jersey we met for a luncheon today and brought some things for Our Sailors who are deployed one of Our Mom is sending a package to a unit ??? for Xmas it was a nice time shared by All

Julie... mine is a pirate chaser also. He has been deployed since Aug. and will be gone well into next year. No holidays with him this year. :( but I so will be there when he gets home. I got all his stuff to go into his Christmas box to mail in the next couple of days.
