Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Donna, Yes wasnt PIR amazing , my son just arrived in Norfolk on Sept 8th to start his new phase of Navy Life on The USS MAHAN Im a Proud Mama.How are you holding on if your son is deployed now a very handsome Sailor.I have a similar foto of Me and My son in our SUV.If you like to friend me send me a message My stepson lives in Sherman TX we were there a longtime ago we miss him, life its hard but thank God for Skype at least we have that means of seeing each other, we are hoping to see if we can go this coming year to visit. I love Cape May only been there twice for a weekend only I love those kind of towns not like by where I live 15 minutes away from NYC by entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel.Prayers for your Sailor ,Maria

Navy 25 My son's PIR. was just 1 week head of yours. He was in the 900 division. Now is on the USS Carney, deployed in August. He is part of the 5th fleet.

I grew up in Annapolis, Md and we went to Cape May often during the summers.

JoJo What you posted gave me chill bumps.

 

I live just north of Houston, TX now.

Hi Donna,Im from New Jersey my sons PIR was October 8 2010 the same for him he is very happy and so far so good getting used to living on a ship.How about you and your Sailor

JoJo... Sf's PIR was Oct. 1st last year. It seems like a lifetime ago. He seems to enjoy what he is doing though.  Vey few pple on the Carney website.

Hi txsailorsam and JoJo, I have been looking for about a month now to see if the ship Mahan has a group or any other Moms so far I only found one other but I have found very nice Navy Moms/Wifes in this group and the Norfolk Family group from other ships which afterall we are all a Navy Family and its so nice to have new friends,just like in my other groups when my son was in Great Lakes.Welcome Ladies

Beautifully said A Sailors Mom.  Thank you for both your husband's & son's service to this great nation.  Thank them for me.  My Sailor was on watch yesterday in a bullet proof vest & helmet.  Grateful nothing happened yesterday.
