For our USS Gridley and USS Stockdale families, this was released by the Navy:
Looks like even more of our destroyers will be very busy soon...
Enterprise will sail with the embarked Carrier Air Wing 1 and the staffs of Carrier Strike Group 12 and Destroyer Squadron 2, and be accompanied by four surface warships: the cruiser Leyte Gulf and the destroyers Barry, Bulkeley and Mason.
Released by the Navy, our USS Momsen crew has been hard at work...

Leslie, often you will see the groups get more active when a ship is deployed. Be sure to check facebook for a group for his ship. Our ship no longer has a page on N4Ms, we use facebook completely now.
Colleen, I'm from Livonia originally but won't be back in MI until later in the year.
Good morning all,
This article was released by the Commander of the 7th fleet and will be of interest to our our USS Gridley and USS Stockdale families...
http://www.cpf.navy.mil/media/news/articles/2011/jan/jan6_CarlVinso...
Oh Karla, that would be the only downfall to be a destroyer mom. Most of the photos and the articles will be about the aircraft carrier but I'll try to be on the lookout for more stories about our destroyers.
Our DDG would post on their facebook page, moored in ___________. So they would let us know when they were in port and then we would see another posting when they were underway again.
For our USS Gridley families...I know you must be thinking of your sailor

Angela,
If you click on the "groups" tab above and in the search bar put in "Hawaii (Oahu)", there is a discussion there on how to get on the ombudsman's list. I just happeded to notice while I was reading the entries there. It's under "Discussion Forum". I can't remember what I did, but I managed to get her email and contact her.
Kanga - are you on the ombudsman's communication list? They are the very best person to know when it comes to homecoming details as plans can change at the last minute and generally they will need your personal information so you can gain access to the base that day.
You can never go wrong with the Navy Lodge for rates and cleanines, it's on Ford Island.
Another Stockdale mom!! Welcome to all...
