Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Bandmom on February 21, 2018 at 12:50pm: Hello NavyMom2014, Do the sailors get to communicate often? or is it basically by mail? My son will be patrolling the South Pacific. Does your son have a POA filled out? How soes this Ombudsman thing work. My sailor graduated from A school on Feb. 12, became Petty Officer yesterday, and . . leaves for San Diego on Feb. 27. We hardly have time to get anything done. His ship is do to leave port next week. Not much time to get things together.

ISB, I went to the page that list all the groups and typed in Ombudsman. I am holding up o.k. He told me yesterday that his shipped is getting ready to ship out, so he may not have any shore time at all. Makes it hard to get all the paperwork done. I do know that your sailor has to put you on some kind of list, or the Navy can not tell you anything.

A lot of the groups on here aren't very active, this being one of them. A lot of us use facebook and messenger to talk and keep up with one another. I think it's because it's more accessible and easier to get on.

My son has been on a destroyer for over two years and is (and has been) forward deployed in Rota, Spain. What would you like to know? I can try to answer questions for you.

I have tons of questions too, but I have noticed this group is not very active. I was told however to join the group about the Ombudsman. They have lists of thing that should be done before your sailor leaves for duty.
