adm60 so sorry to hear about your friends illness. What is with the eaglets? Are the biologists taking great care of them? I would hope you are able to keep track of their progress. So how does your Sailor like the ship? My daughter is looking forward to getting on hers, after a trip home hopefully.
Jan you are funny, If I took the vette I would have to go alone and that wouldn't be fun. Hey you and I should do a road trip, we could be the next Thelma & Louise! lol
Thanks for the prayer, I feel bad for the poor kid, she misses us so much. On the phone last week she was telling me that when she comes home she will have to pack up everything in her bedroom because she probably won't be home for a few years. lol I don't know why she thinks this.She wants so much to be independent and take care of everything so Mom doesn't have to. I keep reminding her that its my job! Thats what Moms do.
Jan I totally agree about the cooking thing. I love to bake but I do get tired of cooking. I wish I had the money to hire a cook that can cook healthy, tastey meals. And your right, I don't know how I could've gotton through all this without my Navy Sisters here. I don't even visit any other group, this is the only group for me.
Terry I hope you are ok down there. My prayers are with everyone affected by the horrible storms. My heart hurts for these people.

adm60--so sorry to hear about your friend. That is the exact thing that happened with my mother. Thanks for you words. i went to the hospital to visit her, and the next day, she was in hospice. Too much to take in so quickly. The hospice was absolutely beautiful!! I couldnt have asked for a better place to watch her pass. I still dont think it has hit me, it is such a blur. Sorry about the eaglets, and glad to hear your sailor is doing well. Good luck with everything...hope to hear from you when things get settled down.
Its hard to keep all this chatter straight, i know...but we seem to all love the chaos..so much that we not only do it on this site..but on FB too.
I would be lost without all of the ladies on here. I feel as if they are just in the other room, and i get up and go see what going on in there...lol!
terry--OMG..thats awful!! WHAT is going on with this weather?? FREAKY!! That mailbox is CRAZY! wow..that really puts it in persepective.
Angela---glad you were spared..sounds like it getting bad everywhere. Funny about your cook. If i ever hit it rich..thats one of the first things i would do..hire a chef! Im not a bad cook, i just get tired of doing it. My sister still has all four of her kids living with her (ages 19-25) and i always ask her.."dont you ever get tired of cooking for them all"?...lol
Angela--you asked wheres BARB and i was asking myself today..wheres adm60?? has any one heard?? Maybe i missed something while i was away?
Kelly--too funny about your fear of tornadoes..im with Angela, you seem like the BRAVE one of the bunch. Im that way with BRIDGES...i HATE crossing them. i cry when we cross the Bay Bridge into Ocean City...uhhggg, my stomach is flip-flopping just thinking about it. I dont mind storms..its just the clean-up afterwards that i hate.
Hello Ladies, well we have been hit again with more news. Jess called today and said that now they told her she will be starting C School @ LAKES the end of May and will graduate C School July 3rd and then be sent out to Washington to serve on the USS Lincoln. BUT no news was given to her on coming home at all. She is going into see someone tomorrow and talk to them as to why she can't come home at least for a week since she is just sitting on hold at Lakes since graduation of A School two weeks ago. She is so mad and hurt, all she wants is to come home then go ahead and do whatever it is they ask of her. Poor kid, I hope they give it to her. She is really upset at the current itinerary of NOT coming home at all.
I hope all is well with ya'll, the weather wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be.
Angie I can relate to the storm rituals. I always remember as a kid that back then our cars were made of metal inside and out. My mother would always tell us in a storm not to touch the metal window handle or the metal frame around the doors of her International Harvester Truck/Suv. lol Funny how things change in life.
Jan thanks for checking out the USS Lincoln, nice carrier isn't it?
As for Barb I believe she is really busy with her younger sons and their sports. She comments on fb so I know she's out there kicking up her heels.
Tonight my hubs and I had a visit from one of my daughters friends, the young woman is a Sargeant in the Army reserves. She was so sweet to make us brownies and come by to visit. What a wonderful and thoughtful gesture from someone so young. I was touched by this act of kindness.
I'll keep you Moms posted on our girl, keep us informed of our sons.
~~~~~Hey Ladies, been eventful day watching the weather..wasn't AS bad here as it looked on the radar..I don't like BAD weather and neither does Gracie & Copper(our 2 dogs)..I ALWAYS, make everyone in the house put on rubber soled shoes in case we have to run and it's lightening, we're grounded is my thought..plus, if we live thru bad weather and we're on T.V., we have to look good...LOL...my sister-n-law makes her kids get a shower, our kids have always teased me & her about that...put on shoes and take a shower...oh well, we all have crazy thinking don't we??? but, just for the record I had on make-up and my tennis shoes this am....
Ga. humidity always makes summer weather worse....but, Kelly it's all good....Chris is ok..
Janet, GOOD for you on the job..you will be fine, you are very personable/socialable and that's a good trait to have working in the public...working for a hotel, you have to tell us some good stories...hehe...that would have freaked me out about the FBI stuff..Glad Max and Bree are moving along...any dates yet? We're moving that direction quickly!!
Oh BTW, C is on the U.S.O'Kane DDG 77, I checked it out the day he called us, got some pretty pics of Pearl Harbor with it...not a huge ship...
All of this car talk is funny...we're trying to advise C on a car...he wants to be smart and make a wise decision but, he said he has too look good too..hehe, that's just Colby, there's no shame in his game...Logan just laughs at him. I thought he would be the one with self-esteem problems, he struggled being so small even in High School & then all of a sudden he started growing....mostly straight up, he reminds me alot of my Dad..no problems with self-esteem....
But, I drive a full size Chev. Surburban, which I DEARLY LOVE, and it gets 19 miles per gal. more on HWY...I checked out smaller SUV's and they none get great gas mileage..I have the kids convinced that me and hubby are getting matching Stangs...
Janie, CONGRATS on orders FINALLY!!! WOW, it's about time..hope she will like her station, after being in GL THAT long, I'm sure she'll take anything!
Kelly, if Chris needs help tell him to call....(with the car thing) C has a buddy out there, an older guy thats going to help him out...and we will be those older guys for Chris IF he wants....I laugh at you, you have nerves of steel to do what you do everyday and then to see you say you are scared of ANYTHING cracks me up...you are our Superwoman..hope that made u smile....and YES, we do need to make a list, I stay confused...LOL...
ok, have to go see if my cook has showed up yet, if not guess I will have to do it...don't I wish...
janet, you are so funny. Researching all of the ships. But that is a good idea. We need to put a list together of everyones names/screennames/sailors and where they are stationed. Sometimes I get confused...lol (ok alot of times) even with my own kids.
Chris called and said the weather isn't to bad and then added "i wouldnt tell you anyway, I know how tornados freak you out" then he proceeded to tell me about our trip to Myrtle beach when he was 10 and we were driving when we saw a big black cloud. My husband said it was a tornado cloud and was teasing me. i started crying and totally bugged out. The kids laughed so hard at me. I cant help it. It is the one thing I am terrified of. hey give me a bad guy with a gun anyday but dont mention those damn tornado's......
