I see that.
If they are grad and go, how long do we get to see them?, roughly.
mamawalrus: I dont know much of anything, just that he was hoping for E2 after they take the test, he plays music so they said there is a slim chance he will be in the 900 division. Bummer I am out of town til Thursday, so will not get my mail (box and letter) til I get back - I will definitely call recruiter on Monday! I sleep, eat, and work with my cell phone at my side. so funny, he called me from chicago when he landed wed night, before the USO, and I had just gone to the bathroom for 1 minute when he called - he called right back and chewed me out for not answering the first time. Guess it will go EVERYWHERE with me now on! :-)
Thanks. lol Would have been faster but The Steelers are on!
Bexwest @ mine left on Wed and called at 10:15 as well! What is his rating?
Been doing great til now, but today has been tough. (My Sailor left last Wednesday, got his 30 second call at 10:15 that night - yeah, I know, I have a long way to go....) Couple questions: I see where you said you should only expect the 3 calls - has anybody heard of an additional call on Christmas? The Recruiter said sometimes there are "host" families at Christmas for those in Boot Camp at that time, and they may get to call using that Host family's phone? Never heard of that, but he brought it up. Also - He said Sundays they could attend church services and write letters - anybody get a letter after that first Sunday, or is it usually 2 weeks before you hear from them? Last question: I read all the commandments about what NOT to send - would it be ok to send a letter Priority Mail (2 day service), in case I dont get the address til Thursday, and want to make sure he gets a letter that next Sunday Mail call? thanks.
Lynne,I so appreciate all the info. It is a little confusing when you first get on. I love reading all the comments from everyone. Just knowing you guys are going through the same thing is so comforting. I am starting week 2 and can't wait for the first phone call.
I know that Kim, Angela, and i all have sons on the Ship 11 Div. 061, but is there any one else on here with sons/daughters in this ship?
My son left Boston on the 6th we received his BOX on Friday. How do you know what ship he is on?? :)
Lynne-- so neat to hear your son will be here to answer questions! OMG, thats great.
I'm almost afraid to hear what really goes on in there. lol
You must be so proud of him.
Looking forward to hearing what he has to say
My son left on Dec. 6th - we received his "box" on Thursday and I know he is in Ship 11, Div. 064. Anyone else have a son in that ship?
