Glad to see, from this morning, 8 more Moms have signed up on this group. I am so envious of the Moms that have gotten the form letter. I told my husband (retired navy - submarine corp) that if we haven't gotten the form letter by Thursday I am calling my son's recruiter. I believe my son will be Grad n Go, his rate is Hospital Corp and my understanding is their A school is right there at Great Lakes. After A school, he will then go on to C school for training in his specialty. He signed up for a 5 by 3 (5 years active duty and 3 years reserve), since his first two years are more or less schooling.
If you go to 'discussions' on top of this page, you will see one for your recruits address.
Scroll down in there to find his ship, then continue scrolling down to see exactly how to address the envelope.
Also good tips and info up there for grad. day, and all about what the sons/daughters are experiencing week to week in BC.
Iv'e been writing but they seem like 'letters to nowhere' lol
My son left for BC on 11/29, is on ship 11, div 061, PIR 2/4/11. We are from MN and getting dumped on with snow. So far we've gotten about 10-12 inches and it's not done yet.
luv...yes i got my box thursday, but no letter from him or the navy regarding pir
I;m in Glendale AZ and his ship is 04 div 803. Did you get your box?
Luvpuggies...where are you...my son left on 12/6 also but from Houston....do you know what ship and division your son is in?
BB.....it does get a little easier each day, mine left on Monday, and I cried all day Tuesday when I was by myself, if you keep people around you and keep busy, it is much easier...i didnt think I would start feeling better about it so quickly, but I have read alot on N4M's webpage, watched the Navy Racks video on boot camp, and have chatted online with other moms...it helps....but I also got my sons address on friday....which made me feel alot better, that some of the communication was opened back up...i think thats what hurt the worse...was the NO communication, because I did see and talk to my son on a daily basis, even during the day while he was a work, if i wanted to ask him a question I would text him (it helped that he worked for my husband) but I knew where he was at all the time and what he was doing, not that I am controlling, but out of respect he would let me know where he was going and when he would be back. I promise you it does get better...
My son shipped out 12-06 and I received his box and letter yesterday. Tough day.
my son left Thursday. Yes hard in so many ways but I am trying so hard to focus on the positive!
